West Bengal Short Film Festival is started with the idea of building and promoting a healthy film culture in West Bengal. Our objective is to give film lovers in the city access to global cinema and spark a cultural exchange. With discussions, lectures and discussions on varied topics related to the craft, we try to instil an academic flavour in the festival. Through categories like International Competition, Indian Competition Malayalam Competition, Student Competition, we bring forth quality films from various countries and cultures. An acclaimed jury decides awards for films in the competitive sections.

West Bengal Short Film Festival is the only festival that gives international recognition to local language Short films.

If you are submitting the film by Filmfreeway.com no need to send anything to us
Entries MUST be PAL format only.NTSC is NOT accepted. The video must be in .MP4 or .MOV format. The Festival Management will not be responsible if film is not screened due to problem with the format or with DVD or with pen Drive.
The film can be Documentary, Experimental, Narrative, Fiction, Non - fiction or Animation.
Total running time must be less than 30 minutes in length, including front and back credits. No minimum running time limitation.
The short film can be in any language or any genre. All non- English films must have English sub- titles for festival presentation.
Censor Certificate is not mandatory for the film screening.
Multiple entries can be submitted
Festival organization has right to use the entries / send / selected / nominated films, DVD and materials from the film for Festival promotional purposes and to retain DVD copies of each film as part of our festival library.
Films once selected & submitted for final screening will not be allowed to be withdrawn under any circumstances until festival is over.
The Festival will not pay any custom duty or registration to the Custom department at the Indian aviation authority. If the parcel is returned to the applicant because of that the festival organisation will not be held liable for any such circumstances.

The Entry form/ Application will be considered only on receipt of administrative film submission entry fee of Rs.500/ - (Five Hundred rupees) - (Films produced in India)
US$ 10 (Ten American Dollars) - (Films produced outside India) for regular date submission
