Weird Weekender IFFS is Stuttgart's first very own premier festival for all things weird, wild and wonderful, the best of what indie and genre cinema has to offer:
From exclusive premiere and preview screenings of hotly anticipated international festival favourites, thrilling and intriguing documentaries, to rediscovered and celebrated all-time classics, we aim to surprise, entertain and challenge our audience with each of our hand-picked Weird Weekender titles.
There are also Q&As with attending filmmakers, festival talks, panels, aftershow parties as well as work-in-progress presentations. It is important to us to provide industry professionals as well as cinephiles a place to connect, exchange and share their passion for cinema.
While Weird Weekender will return with its third edition from November 20 to 23, 2025, the original (bi-)monthly cinema series, Weird Wednesday 0711, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, and has established itself as regular go-to event for anniversary screenings of beloved cult classics as well as exclusive previews of upcoming theatrical highlights.
Organized and programmed by a group of local filmmakers and movie enthusiasts, Weird Wednesday 0711 as well as Weird Weekender IFFS are Stuttgart's very own firsts of their kinds.
Titles not selected for Weird Weekender IFFS might be selected for a screening at one of our Weird Wednesday 0711 events at a later date. We'll reach out to the filmmakers if that's the case.
