The 2nd Waterloo film festival is inspired by the success of it's first instalment that took place at the NuMetro Cinema, Cornubia Mall, South Africa from 4-6 July 2025. The 1st WFF was attended by industry professionals and we also screened international films that resonated with our audiences. the 2nd WFF aims at accepting and screening more international films that inspire young filmmakers. This year we are going to have an award ceremony for films and filmmakers that stood out, and our exclusive only-by-invitation ceremonies for networking purposes. We are still going to focus on Masterclasses facilitated by industry professionals to shape, and to spread information about the film sector to inspiring filmmakers.

Our beautifully designed "SUGARCANE TROPHY" will be awarded to films and filmmakers that stand out. A certificate will accompany the Sugarcane trophy.
