VJTV The Visual Radio Network focuses on achievements through film/television, music, entertainment, business, history, and other endeavors. VJTV covers a variety of events including the Academy Awards, BET Awards, Billboard Music Awards, Black Filmmakers Hall of Fame Awards, NAACP Image Awards and many other presentations. One of VJTV's main interest is to showcase talent and also create an avenue for anyone who is dedicated to their craft. Hosting interviews, contests, music videos, and original television programming fusing entertainment with educational and informational material that can benefit our viewers. In our history we've accomplished many of our goals and have earned the respect of our peers. Dedication to great film and television programming is due to the support we receive from the entertainment industry, sponsors, viewers, and anyone whom believes in our projects.

The Visual Radio Television Festival's purpose is to celebrate the best in projects with a music element including; independent television, web series, feature and short length films, animation, music videos, and creators from around the globe. The Visual Radio Television Festival will be a live event screening for the filmmakers and the general public. Selected films and videos will also be broadcast on television, on the VJTV Network throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.

Awards include 2018 Visual Radio Television Festival Laurels, Trophies, and Certificates of Official Selection, AND winning films/videos will be broadcast on VJTV Network thru Comcast cable channel 90 in the Sacramento and Central California area. The Visual Radio Television Festival live event will be held on the date of May 19, 2018 in Oakland California. The Festival will begin the evening with refreshments. The Awards Gala is a social gathering for the winning filmmakers and those of the general public in attendance to meet/greet, socialize, and network with each other. Guests will get to network with filmmakers, content creators, musicians, artists, celebrities, and many more. The Awards Gala will feature red carpet interviews with filmmakers and selected guests conducted by VJTV Network news correspondents. The highlight of the Awards Gala will be the live presentation of the 2017 Visual Radio Network Festival trophies and award certificates to our winning filmmakers in categories including, but not limited to, the categries listed below. After the Awards Gala, the Festival guests and attendees will go inside to the theater to enjoy live screenings of the Festival's officially selected film projects. As well as screening at the live event, the winning filmmakers and content creators selected will also have their film/television/music videos screened on broadcast television on The Visual Radio Television Festival presentation, airing exclusively on the VJTV Network on Saturday May 26th, 2018. Submit your film early for the lowest rates and early acceptance qualification. All genres are encouraged to apply!! Filmmakers and content creators are allowed to submit more than one film/video project, but must pay additional submission entry fees. If your film/video is selected for screening please be prepared to provide a press kit including a poster, still photographs, a trailer, synopsis, links, and cast/crew information.

If your film/video is selected we reserve the right to use images or videos solely for marketing and promotional purposes for the visual Radio Network Festival.

All filmmakers must complete the Submission Entry Form. Submission fee payments must be made in U.S. currency, and paid by Credit Card, Bank Check, or Money Order Entry fees must be made payable to: VJTV.
We accept submissions in the forms of digital downloads, flash drives, external hard drives, and DVD. Any hard copy submissions mailed will not be returned. Please print and include the Submission Entry Form with your film along with submission fee. Be sure to email: once you have submitted your film either online or by mail. All content in your film/video must be owned by the filmmaker, or you must have expressed written permission to use for exhibition.


Web/New Media Series:
Film and/or video that is designed to be a part of an episodic series. Submit only one episode that best represents your show.

Short Film:
Narrative short length films, fiction, and/or fictionalized accounts of historical events with a runtime of under 40 minutes.

Non-fiction films documenting aspects of reality including biographies, human rights, education, economic, entertainment, labor, law, religion, politics, science, travel, and more.

Films that are created using traditional and/or digital techniques, including stop motion, and films that also contain live action along with animation. Motion comics created with computer or using traditional techniques are also accepted.

Films using non-traditional narrative, filming techniques, editing, and sound.

Music Video:
Films that are created to showcase a song or songs utilizing visual imagery produced for promotional and artistic purposes. Runtime must not exceed 10 minutes.

International Film:
Films that are fictional, non-fictional, documentary, animated, experimental, musical, or web/television series that were created and filmed in locations outside of the United States. All runtimes are accepted. All non-english speaking films must have subtitles in english.

Television Series/Special:
Short or feature length films that cover the genres of: episodic series, documentaries, talk show, sports, travel, experimental, animated, health, science, family entertainment, news, musical and concert series, historical biographies, that were created and designed to be screened on broadcast television and digital distribution.
