«V.i.Z. Film Fest» is Bulgarian quarterly IMDB verified online award. We announced results every three month.

The idea of the award is to become familiar with filmmakers' perception of everyday life and to see how that inspires them to generate personal fresh ideas in such a great art as cinematography.

We hope that participation in our award will help independent and new filmmakers to set their course to success through the great cinematography ocean.

It doesn't matter where you are from or what genre your project represents.

Each month our judges, watch and rate the submitted films. At this step, our judges will decide who is «selected» and who is «not selected». They will express their opinion regarding all projects. In both cases, you will receive an email with the project status.

An email with «Selected» means that you became an official participant of the «V.i.Z. Film Fest». If the email is «Not selected» it means that the judges decided not to include your project into the next step.

It can be only five «Finalist» in each category except for categories «Best short Film» & «Best Short Director» where can be ten «Finalist».

You will receive the second email if your project became "Finalist» in at least one of your chosen categories. If you don't receive the email, you are not the one of the lucky five.

If you receive an email «Winner» it means that judges have decided that your project is the best in a particular month in a certain category.

You will receive a special notification if your project reached the top!

The winners will be published on our website (vizff.com) by getting there own portrait pictures with their names, poster of their film and the link to their social media.

All Winners will get a Certificate of Achievement.

Rules & Terms

1. All short films should have a maximum length of 40:59 minutes with credits
2. The genres of short film that we accept are: Drama, Crime/Thriller(it’s also included Action), Comedy, Horror, Experimental, Animation, LGBTQ, Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Documentary.
3. All feature films should have a maximum length of 180 minutes with credits.
4. The films must include English subtitles (unless the spoken language is English).
5. The name(s) to be credited must be included in the cover letter.
6. All short scripts should have a maximum length 42 pages.
7. All feature scripts should have a maximum length 180 pages.
8. All pilots should have a maximum length 45 minutes.
9. Films have no premiere requirements or prior screening restrictions that impact Festival eligibility and may have been screened at any number of festivals or other public theatrical exhibitions, broadcast or streamed on television or the Internet, and/or released via any home video or other public distribution platform anywhere in the world;

By submitting the film, the submitter agrees that:
1. "V.i.Z. Film Fest" can use trailer/teaser/film poster/stills excerpt for promotional purpose (but do not release, under any form or circumstances, the full film).
2. Films will not be shown online.
3. Entry fees are non-refundable unless they are covered by the submission protection option, according to the FilmFreeway terms.
4. The submitter owns all the rights to the film.

"V.i.Z. Film Fest" does not accept the following:
1. Extremist or propaganda content from religious or political organizations, racism, violation of human rights, discrimination of any kind
2. Films which are made before 2010.
3. Films with a poor production standard (bad sound, lack of subtitles/captions for non-English films, or video resolution less than 720p HD).
4. For student fee, it is mandatory the student status evidence (e.g. copy of student card included in the project).
5. The projects that do not follow the rules & terms above can be automatically disqualified at the sole discretion of " V.i.Z. Film Fest ".

    We are incredibly happy to receive the award in the Best Short Documentary category of the V.i.Z Film Fest.
    Ceating our short film itself was an invaluable experience. It is no secret that we had to film during the military invasion of Ukraine, through the overwhelming hardships with funding and logistics. That is why we are happy beyond words that our story found it's place within the viewer's hearts and received this award. Therefore, our gratitude also goes out to the jury and viewers for being our inspiration to move forward and tell new stories. Many thanks and until next time!
