This young festival is wonderful. I didn't get to attend, but felt good vibes coming from them, in communications. I was delighted that the festival chose my film for a Best Feature Documentary Award! We appreciate it so much. And feel good that audiences responded so well to The 9 Lives of Barbara Dane. Thank you VFFF!

We were so honored to have our film, Tokyo Cowboy, receive the Best of Fest “Golden Owl” Award! And I’m so glad I was able to attend the Vermont Film and Folklore Festival to experience the warmth, the hospitality, and to renew friendships and make new friends with other filmmakers.
Manchester Vermont is the perfect place to gather and celebrate the art of film! This was an experience I will remember and I recommend the festival highly!

VF&FF was an outstanding experience in our festival run! The hospitality (accommodations provided for filmmakers), the quirky details including a swag bag which featured local maple syrup + cbd gummies, awards presented on hand-crafted wooden boards, and the festival programs which were of the highest quality I've seen at festivals (a thick book of color photos and write-ups for each film + director)... these were just a few of the things that made this fest unique and fun. Not to mention the films were pretty great too. My team and I hope to return next year!

Unfortunately couldn't make it in for this but one of our producers was able to attend and had a great time. Unique venue for our screening and an amazing programming team. Love that there's a fest in this part of VT that I can hopefully go to next year!

I highly recommend the Vermont Film & Folklore Festival!

I have attended over 30 Film Festivals during my filmmaking career with 3 of our documentary shorts and now with our first documentary feature. I rarely enter first year festivals because they almost always have problems and it costs time and money to attend. That said, I broke my rule with Vermont Film and Folklore Festival and I’m So Glad I Did!

Founders Tim Rhys and Karol Martesko-Fenster are Icons in the filmmaking world (you can read their bio’s on the festival website) so I had a good feeling about their mission statement and followed my gut. I was lucky enough to be selected for the Inaugural year!

They were very Professional and personable from the first e-mail telling us “We Were In!” The Managing Director, Evelina Jarosz was my main contact handling accommodations and every question I had. The attention to detail and quickness of response was Very impressive. I have to travel with a service animal and Evelina found us a Kimpton Hotel that was AMAZING! (They don’t have issues with dogs). We were right in the middle of all the venues and super comfortable.

All the Staff and Volunteers were so nice, helpful and knowledgeable about all the films!

The Screenings had Great Audiences!!! That is all we filmmakers can ask for and VFFF supplied! Q&A session had great Questions and I really felt the Audience enjoyed my film!

Every night they had a party where you could meet other filmmakers and audience members. We made some new friends and had a lot of fun networking and snacking on some delicious apps!

The festival is in Beautiful Manchester Center Vermont, a bit off the beaten path, but definitely worth the trip! Many restaurants and shops offered discounts to visiting filmmakers and we took full advantage.

Great Films, Wonderful Audiences, Fun Parties and a Picturesque environment you can’t go wrong entering this festival!
