The first annual Vallejo Reflections Film Festival is hosted on behalf of the Miss Vallejo/Tri-City Organization. We invite films surrounding the theme of social justice and reflections on community or other topics. We are thrilled to welcome submissions! 1. Content Guidelines

Language: Use of strong language should be minimal. Mild and infrequent profanity is allowed, but explicit or offensive language is prohibited.

Violence: Depictions of violence should not be graphic or excessive. Any violent scenes should be brief and without explicit gore.

Sexual Content: Any sexually explicit content is strictly prohibited. Romantic content should be appropriate for a general audience and handled with discretion. No nudity or sexually suggestive scenes are allowed.

Substance Use: Depictions of drug and alcohol use should be limited and not glamorized or shown in a positive light.
Mature Themes: The film can include mature themes, but they should be addressed in a way that is appropriate for all audiences, without being overly explicit or graphic.

2. Running Time
Short films should typically be under 40 minutes.
Feature films can range from 40 minutes to 150 minutes.

3. Original Content
The film must be the original work of the submitter, with no unauthorized use of copyrighted material.
If the film includes third-party content (music, footage, etc.), proper permissions and licenses must be secured.

4. Submission Format
Films should be submitted in a standard format (e.g., MP4, MOV) and in high resolution (HD or higher).
A backup copy of the film should be provided in case of technical issues.

5. Age Requirement
Filmmakers must be at least 13 years old to submit a film.
If the filmmaker is under 18, parental consent may be required.

6. Subtitles
If the film includes dialogue in a language other than English, English subtitles must be provided.
Subtitles should be clear and easy to read.

7. Rights and Permissions
By submitting, the filmmaker grants the festival the right to screen the film and use clips for promotional purposes.
The filmmaker must own all rights to the film and be responsible for any legal issues arising from its content.

8. Number of Submissions
Filmmakers may submit multiple entries, but each film must be submitted separately and meet all the criteria.

9. Screening Rights
The festival reserves the right to decide which films will be screened.
Selected films may be included in various festival events, including online screenings.

10. Entry Fees
Submission fees are typically required and are non-refundable.
Fee waivers may be available for students or underrepresented groups.
