UNERHÖRT! is a Hamburg-based film festival dedicated to celebrating music films—cinematic works where music takes center stage as the primary subject. We welcome a diverse range of submissions, including:

- Documentaries that delve into musical genres, movements, or individual artists.
- Biopics portraying the lives of musicians.
- Concert films capturing live performances.
- Musicals and opera films.

Our mission is to curate programs that create a dynamic fusion of sound and visuals, offering experiences that reflect the cultural and political contexts in which music and films evolve. We aim to foster dialogue among filmmakers, musicians, and audiences, contributing to meaningful conversations about the films we screen and the music we celebrate.

In 2025, all selected films produced from 2022 onwards will compete for the UNERHÖRT! Best Music Film Award, which includes a monetary prize.

Festival Dates: October 29 – November 2, 2025.
Submission Deadline: July 1, 2025.
Minimum Length: 30 minutes.
Submission Fees: €15 (Standard), €7.50 (Student).

Screening Fees: UNERHÖRT! does not pay screening fees for submitted films selected for the final program but will contribute to travel and accommodation costs for attending filmmakers.

Note: Music videos are not accepted.

Code of Conduct: Racism, sexism and discrimination have no place at Unerhört! events.
