Deelname staat open voor filmmakers die in Nederland wonen/werken/studeren.
Meedoen is gratis.
Genomineerd?
De jury maakt vrijdag 9 oktober 2026 bekend welke twintig films zijn genomineerd. Je krijgt daarvan persoonlijk bericht.
Tijdens Twente Short worden uitsluitend DCP-versies van de films vertoond.
Als je geen DCP hebt van je film, dan kan Filmhuis Oldenzaal je film omzetten naar DCP.
Filmhuis Oldenzaal rekent daar 15 euro voor.
Is jouw film genomineerd, lever dan voor vrijdag 23 oktober een DCP (Digital Cinema Package) aan van jouw film. De DCP moet voldoen aan een configuratie waarover je nog nadere informatie ontvangt.
Het filmfestival Twente Short vindt plaats op zaterdag 21 november, in de thuislocatie van Filmhuis Oldenzaal: Stadstheater De Bond, Molenstraat 25 in Oldenzaal. Tijdens het festival zijn alle twintig genomineerde films te zien.
Filmhuis Oldenzaal beschikt over een professionele installatie met full Dolby 5.1/ 7.1 surround sound en een filmdoek met een grootte van 9 bij 4 meter. Voor jou een unieke kans om jouw film te (laten) zien in een professionele setting!

Vrijdag 21 augustus voor 17.00 uur: deadline aanmelding en aanleveren van je film, lever je film aan als MP4-bestand, in HD-kwaliteit of hoger

Who can participate?
Participation is open to filmmakers who live, work, or study in the Netherlands.
Participation is free.
Nominated?
The jury will announce which twenty films have been nominated on Friday, October 9, 2026. You will receive a personal notification regarding this.
During Twente Short, only DCP versions of the films will be shown.
If you do not have a DCP for your film, Filmhuis OLdenzaal can convert your film to DCP. Filmhuis Oldenzaal charges 15 euros for this.
If your film is nominated, please submit a DCP (Digital Cinema Package) of your film before Friday, October 23. The DCP must comply with a configuration, about which you will receive further information.
The film festival Twente Short takes place on Saturday, November 21, at Filmhuis Oldenzaal's home venue: Stadstheater De Bond, Molenstraat 25 in Oldenzaal. All twenty nominated films will be screened during the festival.
Filmhuis Oldenzaal features a professional installation with full Dolby 5.1/7.1 surround sound and a screen measuring 9 by 4 meters. This is a unique opportunity for you to screen your film in a professional setting!

Awards & Prizes

De jurering
De jury bestaat uit drie professionele filmmakers. Hun namen worden binnenkort bekendgemaakt. De jury selecteert in totaal twintig genomineerde films. Alle genomineerde films zijn te zien tijdens Twente Short op zaterdag 21 november 2026.
Aan het slot van het festival maakt de jury bekend wie de prijswinnaars zijn in de categorieën Fictie, Documentaire of Animatie. Daarnaast reikt de jury een Aanmoedigingsprijs uit. Het publiek bepaalt tot slot wie er met de Publieksprijs naar huis gaat.
Priijzen: Vouchers om filmmateriaal te huren en de trofee Boeskoolmenneke.

The jury
The jury consists of three professional filmmakers. Their names will be announced shortly. The jury will select a total of twenty nominated films. All nominated films can be seen during Twente Short on Saturday, November 21, 2026.
At the end of the festival, the jury will announce the prize winners in the categories Fiction, Documentary, or Animation. In addition, the jury will present an Encouragement Award. Finally, the audience will determine who takes home the Audience Award.

Prizes: vouchers for borrowing film material and the Boeskoolmenneke trophy.

Rules & Terms

Met welke films kun je meedoen?
Je kunt met maximaal twee films meedoen. Je film duurt maximaal tien minuten, inclusief (een korte) aftiteling. Je film wordt beoordeeld in de categorie Fictie, Documentaire of Animatie. Alleen films die in of na 2024 in première zijn gegaan, kunnen meedoen. Je mag met de film niet al hebben meegedaan aan eerdere edities van Twente Short.
Deelnemers aan Twente Short waarborgen de organisatie van Twente Short dat zij over alle rechten beschikken (beeld en geluid).
Deelnemers aan Twente Short geven toestemming voor vertoning van hun film tijdens Twente Short, en tijdens evenementen in het kader van de promotie van Twente Short.

Inzenden van je film
De deadline voor je aanmelding en het aanleveren van je film is vrijdag 21 augustus 2026 voor 17.00 uur. Lever je film aan als MP4-bestand, in HD-kwaliteit of hoger. Insturen kan via WeTransfer of Transfer XL naar mailadres festival@filmhuisoldenzaal.nl Of meld je film aan via FilmFreeway.

Vermeld bij je aanmelding de volgende gegevens:
• titel van de film
• een korte beschrijving van de inhoud van de film
• een of meer stills van je film (bij voorkeur minimaal 1Mb)
• het jaar waarin je film in première is gegaan en of dit de eerste film is die je uitbrengt
• jouw naam en die van de eventuele andere makers
• een korte biografie van jezelf en/of van je team als filmmaker(s)
• in welke categorie jouw film beoordeeld moet worden: Fictie, Documentaire of Animatie
• het e-mailadres en telefoonnummer waarop we jou kunnen bereiken wanneer je genomineerd bent!
• jouw profielnaam op social media, zodat we je kunnen taggen in onze berichten

Nederlands gesproken films mogen niet zijn ondertiteld. Anderstalige films moet je met Nederlandse ondertiteling aanleveren.

Elke genomineerde film ontvangt een officiële Laurel voor hun selectie en een aparte Laurel voor de winnaars in elke categorie.

Is jouw film genomineerd, dan verwelkomen we je graag tijdens Twente Short. Ook hopen we dat je dan wilt meedoen aan een Q&A-sessie na de vertoning van je film. Graag horen we uiterlijk zaterdag 7 november of je naar het festival komt.

Which films can you enter?
You can enter a maximum of two films. Your film must be a maximum of ten minutes long, including (short) credits. Your film will be judged in the Fiction, Documentary, or Animation category. Only films that premiered in or after 2024 are eligible to participate. You must not have participated in previous editions of Twente Short with the film.
Participants in Twente Short guarantee to the Twente Short organization that they possess all rights (image and sound).
Participants in Twente Short grant permission for the screening of their film during Twente Short and during events related to the promotion of Twente Short.

Submitting your film
The deadline for registration and submitting your film is Friday, August 21, 2026 before 5:00 PM. Submit your film as an MP4 file in HD quality or higher. You can submit your film via WeTransfer or Transfer XL to the email address festival@filmhuisoldenzaal.nl Alternatively, register your film via FilmFreeway.

Please include the following information with your submission:
• title of the film
• a short description of the film's content
• one or more stills from your film (preferably at least 1Mb)
• the year your film premiered and whether this is the first film you are releasing
• your name and the names of any other creators
• a short biography of yourself and/or your team as filmmaker(s)
• the category in which your film should be judged: Fiction, Documentary, or Animation
• the email address and phone number where we can reach you once you are nominated!
• your social media profile name, so we can tag you in our posts

Dutch-language films may not be subtitled. Films in other languages must be submitted with Dutch subtitles. Each nominated film receives an official Laurel for its selection, and a separate Laurel for the winners in each category.

If your film is nominated, we would love to welcome you to Twente Short. We also hope you will participate in a Q&A session following the screening of your film. Please let us know by Saturday, November 7 at the latest if you will be attending the festival.
