Tryphena Wade is a multi-dimensional artist from Columbus, Ohio and a proud BFA graduate of Howard University. She is a theatre veteran, having performed on international and regional stages and portrayed Queen Sarabi in Disney’s The Lion King for 10 years up until the Broadway shutdown in 2020. She is a self-published author (The Heart Works: A Collection, 2017) and indy filmmaker (Dear Carefree Black Girl, 2019). She is also a lover of adventure and travel, having explored over 30 countries as a performer, student, and globetrotter. Tryphena has a passion for telling new and nuanced Black stories through acting, writing, directing, and producing.
Tryphena is also a Certified Master Life Coach with a passion for embracing life without fear and helping others do the same. Her YouTube show, Fearless Fridays, ran for 4 years with close to 150 episodes.
With an acting career that has run for almost 20 years, Tryphena is excited to embrace the world of filmmaking, both in front of and behind the camera!
