Join the movement and help us film a global, crowd-sourced documentary in the name of Trees.

We're looking for footage created by YOU about trees, reforestation, deforestation, forest ecology, or simply what trees mean to your life and community.

Is there a special tree that is significant in meaning to you?

Does your community suffer at the hands of deforestation?

Are you involved in a grass-roots tree planting organization?

Do you have a tree story that you feel is profound and carries a deeper meaning?

Are you in a unique position to film a particular forest that most of the world has never seen before?

We want to see it! Send us your footage for a chance to be featured in the TREES movie - a love letter to the giants who control our fate.

If selected, your footage will be included and credited in the final film.

:: SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS::

If selected, we will need you to submit a Filmmaker Release Form, an Appearance Release (if any person is heavily featured in your footage), and a Location Release (if you filmed on private property).

We will reach out via email if you are selected so that you can submit the required forms.

:: PROJECT SPECS ::

To increase the likelihood of your story appearing in the Trees movie, we ask that you — or the subject(s) of your film — address one (or more) of the following themes:

- What do trees mean to you?
- How have you or your community been impacted by trees, deforestation, or reforestation?
- What role do you believe trees play when it comes to climate change?
- Do you believe that trees have a deeper intelligence?
- Are you a scientist or specialist in a specific area that relates to trees?
- Are you involved in tree-planting or restoration/afforestation projects?
- Are you a front-line tree activist? (Protestor, demonstrator, educator?)

*We strongly recommend making this story personal.

:: CAMERA SPECS ::

The best camera settings are 4K at 24fps, though we will also consider 1080p. If your camera cannot shoot at 24fps, 30fps will suffice.

:: FOOTAGE SPECS ::

Footage submissions may be no longer than 10 Minutes.

All footage must center on trees, reforestation, or other tree-related activities.

We require that your submission is RAW FOOTAGE:

- No special effects
- No filters or stickers
- No watermark
- No music
- No logos, whether for the production company itself or within the footage (e.g., no Nike swoops or Mac apples)

We suggest filming in landscape view. If you're using a mobile phone, this means that we would prefer that you hold your camera horizontally.

Thank you for your submission - we look forward to receiving your footage!
