Istrakon is an annual manifestation that celebrates all things SF&F. Among interesting panels held by Croatia's leading scientists, authors and filmmakers, innovative larp games, cosplay competitions and fun parties, Istrakon now brings you its own film program!

In collaboration with Udruga Forma, an NGO whose members are award winning filmmakers and new media artists, this year Istrakon is proud to present the Trash Film Program 2024!

We welcome all amateur filmmakers and silly enthousiasts to participate and submit their not-quite-serious works. The theme of this year's Istrakon Festival is AI - Artificial Intelligence, so the submissions must be theme related.

Awards & Prizes

The winning submission will be awarded with an equally trashy prize, including but not limited to handmade garbage. The real prize naturally are bragging rights of having produced the best trash out there.

Rules & Terms

Rules and Guidelines
1. Submission to the Istrakon - Trash Film Program 2024 constitutes an agreement with all festival terms and conditions, and permission to exhibit the work during the festival if selected.
2. The Entrant/s submitting the film must hold all legal rights for the submission, as well as all necessary clearances for public exhibition.
3. The Filmmaker/s retain/s all submission and intellectual property rights.
4. Films not in English or Croatian language must be subtitled in English or Croatian.
5. Submissions entered past the due date will not be considered.
6. Istrakon - Trash Film Program 2024. may deny acceptance of any film at its sole discretion.
