RUN DON'T WALK to the Top Shorts International Film Festival. This was the best fun I've had all year, resulted in some stellar international contacts, really interesting conversations that spawned two new film ideas, and above all, the programming was extraordinary. This festival is young, but is run by a well-established community (The Short Film Directors' Association) so don't be put off by its newness; the screenings in a nice cinema were full, and the awards ceremony was standing-room only. AND it's held in the middle of Kadikoy, which is best described as the Brooklyn of Istanbul. Definitely worth the submission fee!
