TTAFF plans to expand from a single day to a 3-day event for TTAFF4!

The Tigertail Asian Film Festival is entering its 4th edition as we continue to celebrate the vibrant and diverse storytelling of Asian cinema. Founded to promote cultural exchange and artistic collaboration, we aim to showcase the best in Asian film, art, and performance. This festival is open to everyone, embracing a wide range of perspectives and talents.

The Tigertail Asian Film Festival held its inaugural event in 2024, marking a historic milestone as first Asian-focused film festival in the greater Tampa/St Pete metro area. TTAFF is open to all creators and audiences as this event celebrates culture, art, and storytelling.

The festival was met with enthusiasm and became a resounding success. Over 300 attendees participated in the first year and TTAFF continues to grow each year as our audience enjoys films and cultural experiences from across Asia.

The festival is prominently featured in local news, including an article by Click Orlando, which highlighted its innovation and cultural significance. The positive response from the community and media demonstrates the strong demand for this type of event and sets the stage for an even bigger and better festival each coming year. The Tigertail Asian Film Festival was founded by Tian Liu and her esteemed film company, Tigertail Pictures. In addition, our film festival celebrates Asian culture and art, steering clear of politics or affiliations with any party or agenda.

Rules & Terms

TTAFF will being selecting about 30+ shorts and feature films this year to screen along with a Historic Asian Cultural Touchstone Film and an Opening Day Film that has already been pre-selected.

Film Specification Requirements:
The DCP format is required. DCP should be DCI Compliant.

Video should be 24 frames per second; here are the resolution possibilities:
-Flat 1.85 DCP (1998 x 1080)
-Scope 2.39 DCP (2048 x 858)

A Title Safe Margin that is 10% from the edge of the screen should be used. Do not place logos, copy, and essential elements outside of the Title Safe Margin. Elements that fall outside of the Title Safe Margin may be cropped off by the projectors overscan, or over-projection onto the masking that surrounds all movie screens.
