Festival Rules & Terms
1. Eligibility
Film Length: Films must be under 20 minutes including credits
Production Year: Films must have been completed after: 2023
Genre: Comedy and Horror
Language: Non-English films must have English subtitles.
Originality: The film must be original work. Any form of plagiarism will result in disqualification.
2. Submission Guidelines
Deadline: All submissions must be received by: October 16, 12 Midnight
Submission Platforms: Films must be submitted through FilmFreeway
Format: Films should be submitted in MP4 and MOV and in HD resolution.
Entry Fee: $35 early bird, $45 regular, $55 late submission. Fees are non-refundable.
Multiple Submissions: Filmmakers may submit more than one film, but each must be accompanied by a separate entry fee and form.
3. Selection Process
Jury: A panel of industry professionals will review submissions. Selection will be based on creativity, originality, technical excellence, and overall impact.
Notification: Filmmakers will be notified of their selection status by: October 7th
Screening: Selected films will be screened during the festival from: October 19
4. Rights and Permissions
Copyright: Filmmakers must own the rights to all content in the film, including music, images, and footage.
Distribution Rights: By submitting, filmmakers grant the festival the right to screen the film during the festival and use film stills or clips for promotional purposes.
Publicity: Filmmakers allow the use of their names, photos, and film information for promotional materials.
5. Awards & Prizes
Categories: Awards will be given in categories such as Best Horror Short, Best Comedy Short, Best Film, Audience Choice, Best Student Film (any genre)
Prizes: All projects officially selected in receive the Think Film official laurel and the custom certificate of achievement according to their final status in the competition.
Jury Decisions: All jury decisions are final.
6. Festival Attendance
Attendance: Filmmakers are encouraged to attend the festival.
7. Legal Conditions
Liability: The festival is not responsible for any damage to or loss of submitted films.
Disqualification: The festival reserves the right to disqualify any film for non-compliance with these rules.
Amendments: The festival organizers reserve the right to amend these rules and terms as necessary.
8. General Terms
Agreement: By submitting a film, the filmmaker agrees to all rules and terms stated here.

For student category entries, proof of student status evidence will be required for contest entry (e.g. copy of student card included in the project).
For screening purposes, submitter must provide Think Film with a full HD mov or mp4 digital file.
We do not disclose any kind of information with third parties.
Important Notice: The submitter owns all the rights to the film, meaning that the submitted work (i) does not violate or infringe any copyright, patent, privacy right, publicity right, trademark, service mark or any other personal or property right of any person or entity, that (ii) does not constitute or include a defamation of any person or entity, and that (iii) its representatives have paid and will pay in full all license fees, clearance fees, and other obligations, of any kind, arising from or associated with the exhibition of the film at or in connection with the Think Film festival. Also, the submitter is duly authorized, on his own behalf and on behalf of all other persons or entities who have any ownership rights or interests (including, without limitation, intellectual property rights) in or relating to the film, to exhibit the film at the festival.
