Il Theta Short Film Festival (TSFF) è un concorso internazionale dedicato ai cortometraggi che mira a creare connessioni, valorizzare nuovi talenti e promuovere il confronto artistico tra registi emergenti provenienti da tutto il mondo. Il festival accoglie cortometraggi di ogni genere – fiction, documentario, animazione, sperimentale – e include anche sceneggiature brevi.
Nell’ultima edizione sono arrivate oltre 1.100 opere da più di 50 Paesi: 90 sono state selezionate, 50 hanno raggiunto la finale e 15 sono state premiate in diverse categorie. La giuria, composta da professionisti del settore, accademici, registi, attori e critici, valuta ogni opera secondo criteri estetici, narrativi e tecnici, ma anche per la capacità di emozionare, sorprendere e coinvolgere il pubblico. La varietà dei giurati garantisce una valutazione equilibrata e multidisciplinare.
Le sessioni di valutazione e proiezione si svolgono in diversi comuni del territorio, trasformando il festival in un percorso itinerante che porta il cinema indipendente vicino al pubblico e alle comunità locali. I cortometraggi selezionati trovano spazio in appuntamenti durante l’anno e culminano in un grande evento finale che unisce cinema, teatro, musica e danza. All’interno dei foyer dei cinema, la mostra collettiva ThetArte amplia il dialogo con le arti visive e arricchisce ulteriormente l’esperienza del festival.
Il TSFF è un festival giovane ma in crescita, che offre visibilità internazionale, occasioni di networking con altri filmmaker e professionisti del settore, 15 categorie di premi che valorizzano tutti i linguaggi del cinema breve, e una rete di partner e sponsor sempre più solida.

The Theta Short Film Festival (TSFF) is an international competition dedicated to short films, aiming to connect emerging filmmakers and promote artistic exchange worldwide. The festival welcomes short films of all genres — fiction, documentary, animation, experimental — and also includes short screenplays.
In the latest edition we received over 1,100 submissions from more than 50 countries. Out of these, 90 works were selected, 50 reached the finals, and 15 received awards across multiple categories. The jury, made up of film professionals, academics, directors, actors, and critics, evaluates each project based on aesthetic, narrative, and technical criteria, as well as on its ability to move, surprise, and engage the audience. The diverse composition of the jury ensures a balanced and multidisciplinary evaluation.
Screenings and evaluation sessions are hosted across different municipalities, making the festival a travelling event that brings independent cinema closer to communities and local audiences. Selected films are showcased throughout the year and culminate in a final gala that blends cinema, theatre, music, and dance. The ThetArte exhibition, set up in cinema foyers, extends the dialogue with visual arts and enriches the festival experience.
TSFF is a young but growing festival that offers international visibility, networking opportunities with fellow filmmakers and industry professionals, 15 award categories celebrating every form of short storytelling, and a solid network of partners and sponsors.
