Welcome to the Very Short Film Festival (VSFF)!

We're exclusively open to Australian residents. VSFF does not accept International short films.

We welcome all genres, especially stories that challenge, enlighten, or evoke emotions.

Films should be 2 to 5 minutes long, original, and created specifically for our festival, featuring the 2024 signature 'spark'. This signature unites films created exclusively for the festival, adding a unique touch through visuals, dialogue, or metaphor. Two entry categories: Open (19+) and Junior (under 18).

Finalists receive accolades, mentorship, a trip to Tasmania, cash prizes, and more.

Films will be evaluated by a panel of Australian icons, including acclaimed actor and producer Marta Dusseldorp, renowned actor Essie Davis, and celebrated cinematographer Martin McGrath.

Whether you're a seasoned pro or an emerging talent, VSFF provides a platform for your short film. Top 10 finalists premiere at our festival launch event on May 31, 2024.
