Welcome to The Green Room!

Traditionally, the green room is a designated space for waiting. It’s the location where one prepares for the time to carry out a task. Well, wait no longer; your time starts now!

The Green Room is a special film festival born from the idea that if there isn’t room at the table, create it. A historically black, Seventh-day Adventist institution, Oakwood University’s mission is to “transform students through biblically based education for service to God and humanity.” This festival draws from that concept by giving student filmmakers a platform where creatives can uphold their beliefs, morals, and values. It provides an outlet for them to showcase their work, which embraces media and ministry while growing their talents and skills.

This year's theme is "Healing Across Generations".

I went into the festival only with experience from festivals that only show a couple of films and present awards. THIS festival was spectacular and grand. This hospitality was above great, and they included Christ into the festival without forcing religion on someone, only inviting. The awards were also high quality with a grand red carpet award show with a live band! There was an opportunity to go out with the other film makers to network. So definitely a five star festival compared to other festivals I've went to!!!
