As the only CUNY-wide, student-run film festival, we celebrate excellence in film and provide a platform for students and alumni to showcase their work. The CUNY Film Festival was conceived in 2008 by then student Dan Cowen, and he was soon joined by Tom Flynn as the original producers of the festival. Since our inception, we have brought together filmmakers from CUNY’s senior campuses, community colleges, and graduate programs. The festival promotes creative collaboration with the larger filmmaker community and fosters engagement with industry professionals.

All submitted films must have an affiliation with the City University of New York. The Director, Producer, Writer, Cinematographer and/or Editor must be a student, graduate or teacher at CUNY.

Submitted videos must not be password protected, and should be under 30 minutes.
