Celebrating the contributions of both Gen Z and Gen X, we explore how emerging and established filmmakers can learn from one another through the transformative power of storytelling.

What is The Brixton Film Festival (BFF)?
​
We are a Brixton-based film festival celebrating creative film talent in the area and beyond. We’re a movement that seeks to engage both emerging and established storytellers through film, giving them the freedom to tell their own stories.
By documenting lived experiences, we aim to spark real solutions for change, foster deeper connections through compassion and shared understanding, advocate for the local global majority, and bring our unique perspective to the big screen.

When and Where is the Brixton Film Festival?

Brixton Film Festival launched on Friday, December 6th, 2024. at Ritzy Brixton Cinema.
Film entries submitted via FilmFreeway will be showcased in December 2026 (more details to follow).

Who can submit?

Priority is given to anyone with a connection to Brixton or Lambeth. The festival is open to all, with a focus on filmmakers under 30 and over 50.

What can I submit?

Any film between 5-180 minutes (including credits) that fits within the above categories is welcome, regardless of genre.
If your film is not in English, please include English subtitles.
Each person may submit up to two films.

How do I submit?
All submissions are via FilmFreeway, opening after April 13th 2025.
Films must be submitted to BFF by the forthcoming deadline (to be announced).
By submitting to the Festival, you agree to the following:
Images from your film may be used in BFF publications, on the BFF website, and in other media for BFF publicity. You indemnify BFF against any responsibilities associated with screening your film. BFF may retain preview footage for its archival film libraries and viewing at the Festival.
Once the submission deadline has passed, films cannot be withdrawn, as print, video trailers, and website work will already be in production. Withdrawal at that stage would incur additional costs, which would need to be covered by the filmmaker.
Information provided on the submission form may be used by BFF in publications.
BFF does not pay screening fees and cannot assist with travel or accommodation expenses.
BFF accepts no responsibility for inaccuracies in the information provided.
Please note: Submitted films will not be returned.
