The video above sees Festival Director, Alan Birch being announced as the winner by non other than Sir Wionston Churchill and being presented with the trophy by the worshipful, the Mayor of Dudley, and thoroughly lovely person, Andrea Goddard.
The cut glass trophies will have the name of the winning films engraved on to them.
Our panel of Judges, will choose the best 12 films, which will be screened on the night.
All those films receive an OFFICIAL SELECTION Laurel.
The best four films receive a RUNNER UP Laurel and The overall winner not only receives a WINNER laurel but also our coveted glass trophy.
There is also a chance for one of the films screened at the event to win 'THE AUDIENCE CHOICE' Award.
This Award is voted for by the audience on the night and is always a lot of fun and creates a lot of debate!

THIS YEAR'S FESTIVAL takes place at the Ruskin Glass Centre on the 7th December 2024

All films selected will receive a certificate and The Black Country Horror Shorts Laurel to add to their film.

We were lucky enough to have our short horror film MEANS TO AN END (2022) selected for Black Country and we were a Runner Up which was great. What was really cool was that the film director took the time to record the audience reaction to our reveal and send it to us so that we could see from New Zealand how the Black Country audience responded to our little film. Above and beyond, right there!! Thanks so much, we really loved seeing and hearing the ewwwws. Lovely to be a part of the film festival even from afar! Best wishes to the festival. Tanya Wheeler and the MEANS TO AN END cast and crew!
