The Termita International Film Festival is a celebration of creativity and cultural expression, founded with a mission to inspire and promote audiovisual production in all its forms. Rooted in the belief that storytelling knows no boundaries, the festival serves as a dynamic platform for filmmakers to showcase their unique voices, artistic visions, and innovative approaches to cinema.

The 9th Termita Film Festival will take place at Termita Lab in Ponferrada, León, Spain, from August 27th to August 31st, 2026. Set against the vibrant backdrop of Spain’s rich cultural heritage, the event promises a week of screenings, panels, and networking opportunities that bring together creators, industry professionals, and audiences who share a passion for film and creative exploration.

Dedicated to total artistic freedom, Termita welcomes all genres, styles, and forms of audiovisual work—each competing on equal footing. Beyond the main annual event, the festival will host seasonal showcases and special programs throughout the year, extending its commitment to supporting filmmakers and nurturing artistic exchange across borders and communities.

Art.1-. ELIGIBILITY
Any audiovisual piece is accepted independently of the format, genre, length or
nationality, experimental works, animation, documentaries, video art, videoclip,
advertising, pilot series, or any other, included. Shortfilms that have been received in
previous editions Won’t be accepted, and it has to be released in 2024
The Works that won’t be in Spanish must be subtitled in Spanish

Art.2-.FORMAT, WORKS AND FREE REGISTRATION
The Works must be sent in digital format H264, DVD or Blu-Ray, by FilmFreeway.

Any material that has been sent for registration or projection won’t be given back,
neither the festival will take any responsibility at any cost.

Art.3- TERMS & SELECTION
The works that have been received should make over a first filter by the organizational committee . The chosen works will be projected in different stages and groups where the public will value and select the ones that will pass to the next stage.
Official sections: Competition, Panorama, Magnum Opus
Other sections: Will be determined by the Selection Committee
The decisions that will be made will be notified a week before each projection and
according to the following stages. The Committee will decide in which festival sections, competitive or non-competitive, will include the film. The festival’s direction will establish the order and date of each film’s exhibitions reserving the right to Project it for the festival’s dates in any Termita’s room.
