Ted Marsden is an award-winning writer, director, + editor. He likes to create dramatic, surreal visuals and irreverent, character-based comedy.
He was a founding father of the radical editing collective Racer Trash. Racer Trash gained a cult following during the pandemic streaming remixed exquisite corpse-style feature films and was invited to screen during Midnight Madness at the 2021 Toronto International Film Festival and invited to be the Artist-In-Residence at the 2021 Cucalorus Film Festival.
He is a festival director and senior programmer for the Taco Bell Film Festival Presented by Delta Airline®. The Taco Bell Film Festival is the most prestigious independent and forward thinking fast food film festival in the World. In 2022, this international screening event was held in both LA and Toronto, where films were screened that “embody the spirit and promise of a Taco Bell meal, or its presenting sponsor Delta Airline.”
His short film New Hire made its premiere at the 2020 San Francisco Independent Film Festival, and was shown at the Oscar-qualifying Cleveland International Film Festival, Mammoth Film Festival, and Dam Short Film Festival. It made it's international debut at Short to the Point in Romania.
He produced and edited the short film Helen’s Nose, starring Andrea Rosen (Upload, Stella), which was an Official Selection at the Woodstock Film Festival, San Francisco Indie Fest, and 8th Annual NoHo Cinefest.
He has created numerous episodic shows at Channel 101. His 7-episode show Making Partner won Best Show and Best Director in 2018. His 10-episode show Street Cleaning won Best Editing in 2017.
When he is not creating narratives, he is helping to create video marketing for progressive political campaigns, including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Jamaal Bowman, Joe Biden, Justice Democrats, Sunrise Movement, WFP, AFL-CIO, and more.
He attended Emerson College and lives in Los Angeles. He rides his bike almost everywhere. He is developing his next film.
