Established in Berlin in 2017, the Taiwan Film Festival Berlin (tffBerlin), consistently aims to strengthen and expand the representation and participation of Taiwanese Film in Germany and Europe.

As one of Europe's premier Asian film festivals, tffBerlin is dedicated to provide a platform to Taiwanese filmmakers and support an ever growing network between taiwanese creatives and their audience. In 2024 tffBerlin introduced it’s ‚Young Talent Shorts‘ competition, to offer a stage to up and coming filmmakers and showcase new voices within our filmmaking community. Since it’s creation, the competition puts a special focus on connecting and supporting filmmakers in the european diaspora.

Within the ‚Young Talents‘ Competition, up to 10 Short Films will be selected by an international committee of industry professionals. All selected short films will be honoured as ‚tffBerlin - Young Talent Shorts‘. After the screenings, the audience will select its 2 favourite films for the „Young Talent Shorts Audience Award“.

The Taiwanese Film Festival was an amazing showcase of Taiwan’s rich storytelling and culture. The films were beautifully made, with touching performances and stunning visuals. The Q&A sessions with the short-film directors added great insight. An inspiring and enjoyable event!
