After the successful launch of the new era, Tabor New Frame Film returns for its next edition — an international short film festival dedicated exclusively to young filmmakers, bold voices under the age of 35. Building on the legacy of the long-running Tabor Film Festival, the festival continues to open space for fresh perspectives, new aesthetics, and fearless storytelling.

Tabor New Frame Film is an international short film festival created for the next generation of filmmakers. The festival will take place from 2 to 4 July 2026 at the historic Veliki Tabor Castle near the village of Desinić in Hrvatsko Zagorje, Croatia.

The festival program is open exclusively to directors who are 35 years old or younger on the day of submission or films completed by their age of 35 . Eligible films must be completed after 1 January 2025. All genres of short film are welcome, including fiction, documentary, animation, experimental, hybrid, and all other audio-visual forms.

Tabor New Frame Film is not only a screening event but also a meeting place for learning, discussion, and collaboration. The program includes workshops, lectures, and talks focused on contemporary film practices, new technologies, sound and music in cinema, as well as the future of audio-visual storytelling across film, television, gaming, and digital media.
The festival features three competition categories: International Competition, Croatian Competition for Croatian filmmakers, and Student Competition intended for film school and university students. The goal of the festival is to support young authors, encourage new production, and create a platform where emerging filmmakers can present their work to audiences, professionals, and other artists.

The best films in each category will receive the festival award Meluzina, together with cash prizes intended to support future film projects. The award for Best International Film includes the Meluzina trophy and a prize of 500 euros, Best Croatian Film receives the trophy and 300 euros, and Best Student Film receives the trophy and 100 euros. The jury may also present Special Mentions for exceptional artistic, technical, or thematic achievements.
