Modern Tezpur is a cultural and educational hub, home to a number of archaeological sites, temples and monuments. Festivals play a significant role in the cultural life of Tezpur. An International Film Festival in Tezpur would be a great way to celebrate the town's rich cultural heritage and promote the art and culture of the region and also allow International cultures to come and mingle with the local cultures.

The Tezpur International Film Festival is an initiative to provide an excellent platform to showcase the works of local film makers and artists and also to invite international film makers for cultural exchange and dialogue.
