Welcome to the Festival of Sunsets, Trasimeno International Art Film Festival!
In Umbria, the lake of Trasimeno has the ability to evoke stories that have spanned centuries; even today, the myth of the past contributes to sculpting the present to project into the future.
A Festival of Cinema, Theater, Visual Arts, Dance, and Music, sheds light on the contribution of the history of the proud locals, who have always fought for their independence, defending the splendor of these territories.
Thanks to the Festival, life around the Trasimeno lake is colored not only by the extraordinary sunsets depicted by artists, musicians, poets, and dramatists but also, and above all, by the presence of young people from all four corners of the world. Intrigued by stories and legends represented and understood through their fervent imagination, the young are the true protagonists who, with passion and enthusiasm, narrate Trasimeno in their artistic interpretations, such as dance performances, music recitals, film presentations, and creation of new documentaries and short films, as well as sports or contemplative activities.
Italian and foreign visitors participate in many and diverse forms of cultural aggregation. It is these engaging, exciting, and immersive performances that allow direct contact with the pristine nature of Lake Trasimeno and its magical islands.
The line that separates and often closely relates the artist and the spectator is particularly subtle. One needs the other, and if roles often reverse, credit is given to performances and theater, born in the squares and ancient villages before finding their way into the comfortable halls and venues we frequent today. This relationship is also strengthened through participation in campuses, laboratories, workshops, and courses organized to animate the Festival, offering a unique opportunity for learning, comparison, and interaction with artists, industry experts, and often even among residents and visitors themselves.
Whether you are passionate about art, culture, or simply wish to immerse yourself in the beauty of our territory, the Festival of Sunsets offers an extraordinary program that includes a variety of captivating performances, both indoors in charming spaces and outdoors along the ancient streets of Trasimeno's villages, along the lake's perimeter, or immersed in fascinating and unexplored paths and trails. Always in the theme of art, lets not forget to experience and appreciate the local gastronomic art expressed at the highest levels, presented through a variety of tastings narrated at sunset and under the stars, where the authenticity of the products and the culture of food delight the palate and soothe the mind.

Benvenuti al Festival dei Tramonti!
In Umbria, il lago Trasimeno è capace di evocare storie che hanno attraversato i secoli; ancora oggi il mito di ieri contribuisce a scolpire il presente per proiettarsi nel futuro.
Un Festival di Cinema, Teatro, Arti visive, Danza, Musica riesce a fare luce sul contributo della storia di questo popolo, fiero, che ha sempre lottato per la propria indipendenza difendendo lo splendore di questi territori.
Grazie al Festival la vita sul Trasimeno si colora, non soltanto degli straordinari tramonti tratteggiati da artisti, musicisti, poeti e drammaturghi, ma anche e soprattutto della presenza di tanti giovani provenienti dai diversi angoli del pianeta. Incuriositi da storie e leggende rappresentate e comprese grazie alla loro fervida immaginazione, sono proprio i giovani i veri protagonisti che, con passione ed entusiasmo, raccontano il Trasimeno nelle loro interpretazioni artistiche, quali performance di danza, recital di musica, presentazioni di film e realizzazione di nuovi documentari e cortometraggi, attività sportive o contemplative.
Visitatori italiani e stranieri partecipano a tante e diverse forme di aggregazione culturale e sono proprio questi spettacoli coinvolgenti, emozionanti e immersivi, che consentono un contatto diretto con la natura incontaminata del lago Trasimeno e delle sue magiche isole.
E’ sottile la linea che divide e molto spesso mette in stretta relazione l’artista e lo spettatore. L’uno ha bisogno dell’altro e se i ruoli spesso si invertono il merito va riconosciuto agli spettacoli e al teatro, nati nelle piazze e negli antichi borghi, prima che approdassero nelle comode sale che oggi frequentiamo. Relazione che si rafforza anche attraverso la partecipazione ai campus, laboratori, workshop e corsi, che, organizzati per animare il Festival, offrono un’opportunità unica di apprendimento, confronto e interazione con artisti, esperti del settore e molto spesso anche fra gli stessi abitanti e i visitatori.
Sia che siate appassionati di arte, cultura o semplicemente desideriate immergervi nella bellezza del nostro territorio, il Festival dei Tramonti offre un programma straordinario che si compone di una varietà di spettacoli suggestivi, sia all’interno di affascinanti spazi che all’aperto, lungo le antiche vie dei borghi del Trasimeno, lungo il perimetro del lago o immersi in affascinanti e inesplorati percorsi e cammini. Sempre in tema di arte, come non considerare e apprezzare anche l’arte enogastronomica locale qui espressa ai massimi livelli perché affidata a degustazioni narrate al tramonto e sotto le stelle dove la genuinità dei prodotti e la cultura del cibo deliziano il palato e distendono la mente.

Rules & Terms

Art. 1 Who can participate

In the Official Selection, the following can be included:

Films made after January 1st, 2020 or Winners Films.

Films already presented in other Italian or foreign events.

Films "out-of-competition" with no limits of the year of production can participate in the first edition.

All films must be subtitled in English (English language works must include subtitles in Italian language in .srt format).

Authors and/or Distributors are required to attach their artistic profile, personal photos, scene photos and media/press kit.

The Monographs/Biographies (Bio & Arts) section refers to films dealing with biographies, or the entire work, of eminent figures in their field of occupation, who have actively contributed to improving their sector and its pool of knowledge in Italy and worldwide.

The Enterprise Cinema section refers to works dealing with companies or enterprises, well-known in Italy and worldwide, with a focus on their history.

The section Cinetourism and Promotion of Territories refers to works that highlight the beauty of territories in an identity key and their peculiar communities.

New section Cinema & Dance explores the stories of Dance on Cinema

Wedding Film, tales and memories of the Italian wedding.

Art. 5 How to participate:

To participate in the Festival, it is necessary to register a film that meets the above criteria on the filmfreeway.com platform.

The artistic direction reserves the right to invite films with particular artistic value.

The following documentation must be submitted along with the film:

A copy of the film for screening and projection, which should be available on the platform chosen for the entry.

Art. 8

When submitting a film to the Festival the author declares:
I have read, understood and fully comply with all eligibility information, entry rules, conditions and requirements;
To the best of my knowledge, all information entered by me during the application of the work is true;
This work is not subject to or threatened by any litigation;
I am duly authorized to submit this work to the festival;
I certify that I have full rights to the use of the music used in the work I submitted;
I grant permission to use stills, titles, copy, and/or information from the film for promotional purposes;
I grant permission to view the film directly on the platforms to artistic committees and juries appointed by the festival organization, including popular juries;
I grant permission to screen the film during the Festival including participation and/or presentations in festivals twinned with common projects whose dates and programs will be communicated from time to time, participation in collateral and promotional events anywhere in the world as long as they are organized, participated in and/or authorized by the organization of the TIAFF Festival;

Specific clause for periods related to the emergency Covid-19: in case of transfer of the projections of the works and / or the Entire Festival on On Line Platforms and / or Television Networks, the authors still grant the right of projection only and exclusively during the duration of the Festival, including streaming, live or deferred, as long as it is protected with watermarks of the Festival or the Television Network logo over imprint during the projections, with the legal warnings for misappropriation and / or unauthorized copies. In the event that this clause is deemed incongruous, the filmmaker and / or distributor is required to make a written statement for any adjustments.

Please note: We do not pay screening fees for screenings during festivals, programs or promotional events organized by us to promote the film and its creator or director. Should the film-maker and/or the authors and/or the distribution agencies request any screening fees, the work will not be admitted.

Attention: additional authorization to authorize viewing on the On Line platforms selected as partners for the 2024 edition.

Art. 1 Chi può partecipare:

Nella Official Selection, potranno essere inclusi Film realizzati dopo il 1° gennaio 2020 o Film vincitori,

Alla prima edizione possono partecipare anche film “ fuori Concorso” senza una scadenza dell’anno di produzione.

Possono partecipare film già presentati in altre manifestazioni italiane o estere.

Tutti i film devono essere sottotitolati in inglese ( per le opere in lingua inglese devono essere allegati in sottotitoli in Italiano in formato .srt).

Autori e/o Distributori dovranno allegare il proprio profilo artistico, foto personali, foto di scena e cartella stampa/media.

La sezione Monografie/Biografie (Bio & Arts) si riferisce a film che trattano le biografie, o l'intera opera, di personaggi eminenti nel loro campo di azione, che hanno contribuito attivamente a migliorare il loro settore e la sua conoscenza in Italia e nel mondo.

La sezione Cinema d'impresa si riferisce a opere che trattano di aziende o imprese, conosciute in Italia e nel mondo, e la loro storia.

La sezione Cineturismo e Promozione del Territorio fa riferimento a opere che mettono in luce la bellezza del territorio in chiave identitaria e le sue peculiari comunità.

Al momento della presentazione di un film al festival l'autore dichiara:

Ho letto, compreso e rispetto pienamente tutte le informazioni sull'idoneità, le regole di iscrizione, le condizioni e i requisiti;

Per quanto ne so, tutte le informazioni da me inserite durante l'applicazione del lavoro sono vere;

Questo lavoro non è soggetto o minacciato da alcun contenzioso;

Sono autorizzato a presentare quest'opera al festival;

Dichiaro di avere pieno diritto all'uso della musica nell'opera che ho inserito;

Concedo il permesso di utilizzare immagini fisse, titoli, copie e/o informazioni del film per scopi promozionali;

Concedo l'autorizzazione alla visione del film direttamente sulle piattaforme ai comitati artistici e alle giurie nominate dall'organizzazione del festival, comprese le giurie popolari;

Concedo il permesso di proiettare il film al Festival inclusa la partecipazione e/o la presentazione a festival gemellati con progetti comuni le cui date e programmi verranno di volta in volta comunicati, la partecipazione a eventi collaterali e promozionali in qualsiasi parte del mondo purché organizzati, partecipati e/o autorizzati dall'organizzazione del Festival,

Clausola specifica per periodi legati all'emergenza Covid-19: in caso di trasferimento delle proiezioni delle opere e/o dell'intero Festival su Piattaforme On Line e/o Reti Televisive, gli autori concedono comunque il diritto di proiezione solo ed esclusivamente durante la durata del Festival, anche in streaming, in diretta o in differita, purché protetta

Nota: non paghiamo quote di proiezione per le proiezioni durante festival, programmi o eventi promozionali da noi organizzati per promuovere il film e il suo creatore o regista. Qualora l'autore e/o gli autori e/o le agenzie di distribuzione richiedano compensi per la proiezione, l'opera non sarà ammessa.
