Welcome to the 2nd edition of the Swedish Cinema House Short Film Festival!
Held in the heart of Stockholm, our festival is dedicated to celebrating and promoting independent short films from around the world. We provide a unique platform where emerging and established filmmakers can showcase their work and connect with both an engaged audience and industry professionals.

Short Film Focus
This edition is focused exclusively on short films. We accept works of up to 20 minutes in length, from all genres and countries, with a strong emphasis on originality, storytelling, and cinematic voice.

International & National Categories
We welcome submissions from both Swedish and international filmmakers, with separate award categories to highlight and support local talent as well as global voices.

The Swedish Cinema House Film Festival proudly honors the artistic vision and creative talent of independent filmmakers. Our awards celebrate storytelling, craft, and cinematic excellence.

Winners’ Participation at the Live Ceremony:
Winners are invited to attend the live award ceremony and closing celebration in Stockholm.

Official Screening in Stockholm:
All selected films will be screened at a dedicated venue in Stockholm, offering a unique opportunity to share your work with a live audience of film lovers and fellow filmmakers.

Audience Choice Award:
During the screening event, attendees will vote for their favorite film.
The film with the most audience votes will receive the Audience Choice Award a reflection of direct public appreciation.

These honors are presented as a gesture of deep respect for your contribution to independent cinema.

Before submitting your film, please carefully read through the following rules and terms. By submitting your film, you agree to comply with these terms.

1. Film Submission Rules:
Short Film: Maximum duration of 20 minutes.
Feature Film: Minimum duration of 60 minutes, maximum duration of 120 minutes.
Language: Films that are not in English must include English subtitles.
File Format: Films must be submitted in one of the following formats: MP4 or MOV, with a resolution of at least 1080p.
Originality: All films must be original works and must not infringe on any copyrights or contain third-party content without permission.
Submission Links: Films must be submitted via a link to Vimeo, YouTube, or a similar platform.
2. Use of Film Clips & Material for Marketing:
By submitting your film, you grant Swedish Cinema House the right to use the following materials for marketing purposes related to the festival:

Short clips from the film (maximum 30 seconds) in trailers, ads, and promotional material.
Film posters and still images from the film for use on the website, social media, and printed materials.
The film’s title and director’s name in the festival’s program and marketing materials.
In the event of television coverage, Swedish Cinema House may also include up to 30 seconds of your film in a non-commercial, journalistic news segment, along with the film’s title and the director’s name.
3. Copyright & Rights:
The filmmaker retains all rights to the film.
By submitting the film, the filmmaker grants Swedish Cinema House the right to screen the film during the festival and use it for promotional purposes as outlined above.
The filmmaker is responsible for ensuring that all necessary rights for music, images, and other content used in the film are cleared.
4. Selection & Decision:
All submitted films will be reviewed by a jury consisting of professionals from the film industry.
The jury’s decision on which films are selected for the festival is final and cannot be appealed.
Winners in each category will be announced at the end of the festival.

International Film Competition
This category is open to films from all countries except those where Sweden is the primary country of production. Submissions should have a maximum runtime of 20 minutes and must be from the years 2021 to 2026.

National Competition
This category is open to films produced in Sweden, with a maximum duration of 20 minutes and a production year between 2021 and 2026.

The submission fee must be paid at the time of submitting the film. Please note that the fee is non-refundable, regardless of whether your film is selected or not.

6. Festival Participation:
Selected filmmakers will be invited to attend the festival in person.
Winners will be invited to the award ceremony and may have the opportunity to network with other filmmakers, industry professionals, and media.
7. Deadline:
No films will be accepted after this date.
