A film festival that has been running for 5 years, in this edition the festival will be open to applicants from 12 countries, which are Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, The Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste, Vietnam, and the host, Indonesia.

FILM CRITERIA

A. Technical Criteria
Film Categories:
Live Action Fiction Films with a duration of 10 to 20 minutes
Animation Films with a duration of 5 to 10 minutes
Documentary Films with a duration of 10 to 20 minutes
The film must be the original work of the filmmaker.
Any issues or claims related to the ownership of the work between the participants and third parties are not the responsibility of the organizing committee.

B. Ownership Criteria
The film must be the sole property of the applicant or the production house that applies, and not co-owned with any other institution or business entity with rights to its usage.
The film submitted must not have participated in any previous edition of Sumedang Short Film Festival (Festival Film Pendek Sumedang).
The film must have been produced no earlier than 2023.

IMPLEMENTATION MECHANISM

A. Registration Requirements
The applicant must be a citizen of an ASEAN country, Timor Leste, or Australia.
Registration must be done by (one of) the producer(s) as stated in the film credit.
The applicant or film director must not be a member of the organizing committee of the 2025 Sumedang Short Film Festival.

B. Registration Time & Procedure
Registration opens at 00:01 (GMT+7) on Wednesday, October 1st, 2025, and closes at 23:59 (GMT+7) on Sunday, November 8th, 2025.
Applicants who complete all registration requirements will receive a Participant Badge for the Sumedang Short Film Festival (SSFF) 2025.

C. Registration/Submission Requirements
Film file (HD resolution 1920 x 1080, Mp4 format).
English subtitles must be included (including for films in English or regional language).
Trailer file (30-60 seconds).
Short Director Profile Maximal (25-100 words)
Short Synopsis file (Maximal 25-100 words).
Still Photos (Minimum of 3).
Film Poster File (A3 size, 300dpi, jpg. or png. form).

D. Jury Proces
The curators will conduct the curation process from November 8th to November 22nd, 2025.
The jury process will take place from November 23rd to December 3rd, 2025.

E. Announcement of Winners
Nomination announcement will be made online on November 23rd, 2025.
Winners will be announced in person on December 6th, 2025, during the Awarding Night of the FFPS 2025.
The jury’s decision is final and cannot be contested.
