Mental Health Film Festival Singapore (MHFFS)'s Short Film Youth Competition (SFYC) is an initiative that empowers young filmmakers to explore and express mental health themes creatively, cultivating a generation of advocates and change agents.

Through the competition, MHFFS encourages early detection and intervention by promoting mental health literacy among youth, who play a crucial role in reshaping societal attitudes towards mental well-being.

Through a rigorous and credible selection and judging process, chosen nominees works will be screened publicly and eventually have the opportunity to win up to SGD$1000 in the Student Category and up to SGD$2500 in the Open Youth Category

Student Category:

- Best Overall Film- SGD$1000
- Best Impact - SGD$500
- Special Mention - SGD$500

Open Youth Category

- Best Overall Film - SGD$2500
- Best Impact - SGD$1000
- Special Mention - SGD$500

Audience Choice Award (Across both Categories) - SGD$500

Submission Requirements

- Film duration: 1–10 minutes
- Film must be produced between 1 January 2025 and 7 August 2026
- Your film must be your original work
- Include English subtitles if your film is not in English
- Ensure you have consent from anyone featured in your film

General Eligibility

- Minimum 3 crew members per team
- Aged 35 and below (born in 1991 or after)
- Singaporean, PR, or youth with a valid pass (e.g. Student Pass / EP / SP / LTVP)
- Must be residing in Singapore at the time of submission
- Proof of identity may be required
