CONVOCATORIA FESTIVAL STOP MOTION MX 2023
10ª EDICIÓN
El Festival Stop Motion Mx (SMMX) tiene como objetivo brindar espacios de exhibición para producciones nacionales e internacionales, y al mismo tiempo compartir experiencias de apreciación cinematográfica alrededor de la animación cuadro por cuadro dirigida a diversos públicos.
Te invitamos a participar en la convocatoria internacional de cortometrajes de la novena edición del Festival Stop Motion Mx 2023, donde se reconocerá el trabajo de producciones y creadores audiovisuales.
BASES
1. Podrán competir todos los trabajos audiovisuales que contengan animación stop motion en su totalidad; así como obras con técnicas mixtas que tengan al menos un 50% de animación tradicional cuadro por cuadro.
2. La participación a la convocatoria del Festival Stop Motion Mx es gratuita. Los gastos de inscripción por uso de las plataformas corren por cuenta de los participantes

3. Podrán participar de manera individual o colectiva estudiantes, artistas visuales independientes, cineastas, público en general y entusiastas de cualquier nacionalidad.
4. La fecha límite de inscripción de trabajos es el 1 de Septiembre de 2023.
5. Podrán participar todas aquellas producciones realizadas entre enero de 2019 y agosto de 2023.
6. Categorías en competencia:
● INTERNACIONAL-Cortometrajes de cualquier región del mundo.
● INFANTIL - Produccione dirigidas a infancias.
● VIDEOCLIP - Representación visual de un material sonoro.
● SPOT PUBLICITARIO - Promoción de productos o servicios.
● ESTUDIANTIL- Producciones realizadas por estudiantes universitarios.
● MEXICANO - Solo producciones de México.
● LATINOAMERICANO - Solo producciones de América Latina.
● EXPERIMENTAL - Expresión audiovisual libre con técnicas mixtas o materiales alternativos.
● NIÑXS-Producciones realizadas por infancias.
● ANIMA LA FRASE - Animación 10 seg. con el texto: “Festival Stop Motion Mx”, “Stop Motion Mx”, “SMMX”.
7. El Festival Stop Motion Mx (SMMX), se contactará de manera directa para solicitar las versiones en alta calidad de los materiales para que se proyecten durante los días del festival y fechas posteriores en la Muestra Itinerante.
8. Los participantes deben tener los derechos de los trabajos que presenten.
9. Los trabajos cuyo idioma sea distinto al español deberán ser entregados con subtítulos en español o inglés.
10. Los trabajos que formen parte de la Selección Oficial del Festival Stop Motion Mx 2023 serán obras de la filmoteca del festival y los participantes serán notificados vía correo electrónico.
11. El Comité de Organización SMMX realizará la curaduría de los trabajos en competencia, junto con un jurado conformado por profesionales de la animación stop motion, y otorgará los reconocimientos de cada categoría. Su decisión será inapelable.
12. Los ganadores se darán a conocer en la clausura del Festival Stop Motion Mx el sábado 25 de noviembre de 2023.
13. El premio es un Xoloitzcuintle (estatuilla) los gastos de envío corren por cuenta de los participantes (100 USD envíos internacionales) (30 USD envío en México); además de la posibilidad de tener una invitación a futuras ediciones presenciales o virtuales para participar como invitado especial del festival. Los recursos financieros para las invitaciones están sujetos al presupuesto anual de cada edición del Festival Stop Motion Mx, y el Comité de Organización SMMX no está obligado a hacerse cargo de todos los gastos que se generen por la invitación a México.
14. Todo aquello no previsto en la presente convocatoria, será resuelto por el Comité de Organización SMMX.
15. Los participantes que sometan sus trabajos a esta convocatoria ceden los derechos al Festival Stop Motion Mx para realizar la exhibición pública de la obra audiovisual sometida a este concurso, durante y en fechas posteriores de este festival. Todas las reproducciones de sus obras, serán sin fines de lucro, por lo que SMMX no generará ningún pago por dichas actividades.
16. Todos los concursantes por el sólo hecho de enviar sus obras al Festival Stop Motion Mx, aceptan someterse a los lineamientos de esta convocatoria. Los participantes que no cumplan con los requisitos serán descalificados de este concurso.
17. Se entenderá que todas las obras que participen en esta convocatoria cumplen con los requisitos descritos en la misma, por lo que los participantes deslindan al Festival Stop Motion Mx (SMMX) de toda responsabilidad legal que pudiera surgir de reclamos de terceros, haciendo al concursante responsable de las acciones legales emprendidas en su contra, así como las consecuencias que se deriven de ésta.

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS / STOP MOTION MX FILM FESTIVAL 2022
The Stop Motion MX Festival’s goal is to provide access to exhibitions of national and international productions as well as to share cinematographic appreciation experiences on stop motion with the public.
We invite you to participate in the short film international call for the 9th edition of the Stop Motion MX Festival 2022 where productions and audiovisual creations will be awarded.
GUIDELINES
1. All audiovisual stop motion works and mixed-technique works with at least 50% of stop motion animation may compete.
2. Participating in the Stop Motion MX is for free. However, the enrollment costs through platforms must be borne by the applicants.

3. Students, independent visual artists, filmmakers, general public, and enthusiasts of any nationality may enter the contest individually or collectively.
4. Deadline for submissions is September 1st, 2023
5. All productions created between January 2019 and August 2023 may compete.
6. Competing categories:
INTERNATIONAL-Short films from anywhere in world.
CHILDREN’S – Children’s entertainment.
VIDEO CLIP – Visual and sound production.
ADVERTISEMENT – Products and services promotion.
STUDENTS’ – Works by students exclusively universities.
MEXICAN – Mexican productions only.
LATINOAMERICAN – Latin American productions only.
EXPERIMENTAL –Free audiovisual expression containing mixed techniques or alternative materials.
KIDS- Made for children´s
ANIMATE THE PHRASE - Productions of 10 seconds: “Stop Motion Film Festival”, “Stop Motion Mx” or ”SMMX”.
7. Stop Motion MX Festival (SMMX) will contact the authors of the works so that they submit their materials in high quality as those will be shown during the festival and the following days of the temporary exhibit.
8. The participants must own the legal rights of their works.
9. All productions in a different language to Spanish must be subtitled in Spanish or English.
10. Those works selected by the Stop Motion MX Festival 2023 will officially become part of the festival’s film archive and the participants will be notified by email.
11. The SMMX Organizing Committee will be in charge of doing the curating of the competing productions along with a professional jury of stop motion animators. They will also determine who will be awarded and their decision will be unappealable.
12. The winners will be awarded at the Stop Motion MX Festival closing ceremony on November 25th, 2023.
13. The prize is the Xoloitzcuintle statuette. All delivery costs will be covered by the winners (100 USD international deliveries) (30 USD Mexican deliveries). The winners may be invited to future in-person or virtual editions of the Festival as special guests. Financial resources for future invitations are subject to the availability of the annual budget of each edition of the Festival and the SMMX Organizing Committee has no legal obligation to cover the expenses generated by such invitation to come to Mexico.
14. All those matters not established in this call will be solved by the SMMX Organizing Committee.
15. The applicants must give up the rights to their works to the Stop Motion Festival MX for public exhibition of the audiovisual work during and after the festival dates.
All copies of the works are non-profit and so SMMX will not pay for any of those activities.
16. All participants agree to abide by the rules of this call at the very moment they submit their works to the Stop Motion MX Festival. Applicants not meeting the requirements will be disqualified.
17. It’s understood that all participating works meet the requirements in this call and consequently, the Stop Motion Festival MX (SMMX) denies any legal liability resulting from third-party claims, and the participant will be responsible for all legal actions and their consequences.
