Stockport Garrick Short Film Festival is a hub for celebrating short film in the centre of Greater Manchester's 'Town of Culture'. Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd March 2025.

Stockport was named Greater Manchester's 'Town of Culture' in 2023 and is it any wonder? Our town is home to extensive creative talent and SGSFF aims to showcase this in a screening and networking opportunity, right in the centre and hosted by the oldest Little Theatre in the country - Stockport Garrick Theatre.

A community-based event which invites local filmmakers to submit their short films to be shared with other creatives - an opportunity to network, form new relationships and learn from others.

Attend film screenings and be the first to see many new films from local filmmakers.

Join us in celebrating Stockport's blooming creativity and expand your contacts in the local filmmaking community!

Stockport Garrick Short Film Festival proudly accepts entries on FilmFreeway, the world's #1 way to enter film festivals and creative contests.

As the filmmaker, you must hold all of the rights to your film.

By submitting, you give SGSFF permission to show the film to a ticketed audience during the festival.

By submitting your film, you agree that SGSFF may use parts of your film for promotional purpose.

All submissions will be reviewed before acceptance. Any films deemed unethical or inappropriate for screening will be rejected. All filmmakers will be notified when their film has been accepted.

All films must be submitted in high quality. All submissions must include a copy of the film, 3 stills for promotion and a poster for the film. All content must be of high quality.

A lovely festival in a great community theatre, showing a range of films that really valued local talent, grassroots and DIY filmmaking, and generously gave filmmakers a small platform to talk about their work after each block of screenings. Had a warm, friendly atmosphere, and the reaction from the audience for my film was, genuinely, the one I'd always hoped for when putting the movie together. Thanks all!
