The fifth annual Staten Island Summer of Shorts International Film Festival is presented by Historic Port Richmond Preservation Association (501c3 non-profit organization) and is held annually at the Historic Reformed Church on Staten Island’s Oscar Teale Events Building (54 Port Richmond Ave., Staten Island, NY 10302.) The festival showcases short films, screenwriters, music videos and features red carpet event with film screenings and a ‘Hollywood’ theme awards ceremony all-in-one night. Every year since its creation in 2022, has sold out. The festival is founded by filmmaker/actor Vinnie Langdon III and Historic Port Richmond Preservation Association.

- There is no limit on when your Short Film was made. Your Film can be made this past year, last year or 10) as long as it’s GOOD.
- All Short Films must be under 20 minutes in total run time including credits.
- Short Films are open to ANY Genre including documentaries.
- Short Films must not contain extreme violence, hate towards race/religion/cultures/hate group affiliations or degrade sexual orientations
- Music Videos must be submitted to the Music Video Category
- Absolutely NO Refunds!
- You are allowed to Submit multiple Films but must submit each film separately
NOT all films will be selected to be screened at the Live Event
- All Submissions will be judged by our panel of judges and not chosen by the Festival Director nor the Historic Port Richmond Preservation Association organization
- If your film is selected for our live event, you will be notified as an ‘OFFICIAL SELECTION’
- If your film is nominated for our film festival, you will be notified as ‘NOMINEE’ prior to the event
- All Films must be enabled to be able to be Downloaded, if not we cannot play your Film!
- We do not accept DVD Submissions.
- Filmmakers will be notified status: Selected or Not Selected 30 days prior to the Film Festival’s Live Event
- If your Film is selected, you will receive 2 FREE Passes to the Film Festival. Other cast/crew members apart of your film will have to purchase tickets separately.
- If Selected, Filmmakers agree to provide their own Transportation/Hotel/Flights/RideShare like Uber, Lyft, NYC Taxi themselves to the Festival grounds.

- Music Videos of ANY Genre are welcomed (rock, pop, jazz, metal, emo, folk, international, country etc.)
- All Music Videos MUST be original music. NO COVER SONGS.
- All Music Videos MUST be original music and not created using AI Apps.
- AI within the Video is fine (graphics, animation, visual FX) but the music itself must be original!

- All Music Videos must be under 6 minutes in total run time including credits.

SCREENPLAY CATEGORY:
- Screenplays must be submitted in a PDF File only.
- Screenplays can be ANY Genre.
- Screenplays may not exceed 200 pages in length.
- Screenplays submitted MUST be your original work. Screenplays submitted but written by others will not accepted.
- Screenplays used generated using AI must be mentioned in your Cover Letter when Submitting.
- All Submissions will be judged by our panel of judges and not chosen by the Festival Director nor the Historic Port Richmond Preservation Association organization
- If your Screenplay is nominated for our film festival & awards ceremony, you will be notified as ‘NOMINEE’ prior to the event
- All Scripts must be enabled to be able to be Downloaded, if not we cannot open your screenplay, it will not be sent to our judging panel.
- We do not accept CD/USB/DVD Submissions.
- If your Screenplay is selected, you will receive 2 FREE Passes to the Film Festival. Other writers/cast/crew members apart of your screenplay will have to purchase tickets separately.
- If Selected, Filmmakers/Screenwriters agree to provide their own Transportation/Hotel/Flights/RideShare like Uber, Lyft, NYC Taxi themselves to the Festival grounds.

  • This was a great venue. People there were friendly and I made some good connections. It was a great value since I got to see about a dozen film shorts with food and drink included. The festival's director Vinnie is a very friendly and personable guy who made me feel at home. He even introduced me to his mother who helps him put on the festival.
