Springville City Description:
Springville, Utah is nestled in the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains, situated in the heart of Utah County, the fastest-growing county in the state. Easy access to both Interstate 15 and Interstate 80 and a well-governed city have contributed to the steady growth of this thriving community. Incorporated in 1853, Springville, named after the area’s freshwater springs, is also known as the “Art City” due to its dedication to the arts. Springville is home to the Springville Museum of Art, Utah’s oldest museum for the visual fine arts (circa 1937), which showcases collections of many well-known artists and includes Utah art, a major Soviet collection, early Americana, and the European Steed collection. The city’s sculpture collection, anchored by Springville’s own Gary Price, graces the downtown area and civic center. A Public Art program has been created to reimagine and support art-related growth for the community, the Springville Art Festival is a big part of that.

Art Festival description:
The Springville Art Festival is an annual 2-day event in mid-September. We're proud to be an inclusive and family-friendly event that celebrates artists at all levels and encourages community interactions with different art mediums and artists with their unique styles. Springville is known as "Utah's Art City," and you can find a vibrant scene with a variety of both visual and performing arts. These arts come together for a fun and interactive weekend. We'll have dance, theatre, and musical performances throughout the weekend; artist vendors and demonstrations; art projects and activities, including a community art project; film showcase; plein air painting and sculpting exhibition; chalk the walk exhibition; a variety of food trucks; and a headlining concert.

The Festival takes place at Civic Center Park, the heart of downtown Springville. The park has water features including a splash pad, a collection of bronze sculptures, and a new gazebo. The headlining concert will close out the Festival and takes place on the new Festival Street. With perfect late-summer temperatures (average 82 degrees high, 51 degrees low), we are looking forward to an outstanding event.

The director for each film selected for the showcase will receive $20.00.
