The Southern-Fried Film Festival is a partnership between the Southern-Fried Gameroom Expo and the Y'allywood Film Festival, both founded and operated in Georgia. This year we're looking for submissions from filmmakers creating the best films focused on themes of retro, sci-fi, gaming, pinball, and gameroom culture!
We will be screening films and hosting Q&A's with filmmakers throughout the weekend's events at SFGE!
The Southern-Fried Gaming Expo (SFGE) is a 3-day fan convention focused exclusively on gaming. The expo is held June 9-11 at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel in Atlanta, GA, and boasts over 250 full-sized arcade games, pinball machines and console systems, along with tabletop gaming, vendors, special guest speakers, movie screenings, tournaments and more! SFGE is a family-friendly event that will be fun for all ages.
We will be awarding two prizes of $500 to both the Best Short Film and Feature Film, selected by our jury panel!
Feature films must be at least 60 minutes and short films must be 30 minutes or under, including credits. All non-English language films must have English subtitles. All films must be pertinent to the subject matter of gaming and sci-fi.
All films must be finished, original works, and the filmmaker is responsible for obtaining any necessary permissions for use of trademarks, copyrights or any other properties (including, but not limited to logos, images, characters or music) in his or her film.
Only digital entries with an online screener available through FilmFreeway will be accepted for submission.
All entries must by submitted by March 10, 2018
