Sophie Barnes is a writer-director from Little Rock, Arkansas. Her stories focus on the magical realism in and of the experience being Southern, queer, femme while still living in the South. Sophie's films have been exhibited in several film festivals across her home state and the South, and her most recent films LIMBO and MOONSPEAK premiered at Arkansas Cinema Society, Filmland (2024). Sophie received her BFA in Film from the University of Central Arkansas in 2020. She is an MFA candidate and adjunct professor in the Department of Film, Theatre & Creative Writing at the University of Central Arkansas. She is currently in post-production for her thesis film PARTNERS.
