Terms of Participation for Film Submissions
Solidarity Film Festival Killah P is a festival that started in 2021 in the context of the commemorative events of the murder of Antifascist musician Pavlos Fissas (Killah P).
The 2nd Solidarity Film Festival KillahP will be held in Keratsini between the 1st and 5th of November 2023.
It will take place in the A. Samarakis Cultural Center, in the M. Merkouri Cultural Center, and at the event venues located at Keratsini’s Art School and 1st General High School.
SFF will present the Official Selection Award to all the selected movies from the festival’s committee. Awards for the feature films and the short films will be presented by the Federation of Film Societies in Greece (ΟΚΛΕ), a body that condenses love, and the diffusion of cinema in society.
The detailed schedule of the festival will be announced on September 2023.
Requirements
• In the SFF, films from Greece and all over the world can
Participate, produced between 1/1/2020 and 08/25/2023.
• Short films, as well as feature films can be submitted.
The SFF accepts movies with sociopolitical thematic and specifically solidarity, human rights, sexism, homophobia, nationalism and war, stereotypes, intolerance, fascism, violence, and LGBTQI+ rights.
• Following, you will find the movie categories eligible for
the SFF:
1. Feature films fiction and documentary
2. Short films fiction, documentaries, and Animation. (Short films shouldn’t be more than 25’ including credits)
3. Short films by children, teenagers, young adults, and school film clubs (club members up to 20 years old).
Maximum duration of 12’ including credits.
Deadlines for registration
• All films should be submitted until August 25,2023 for the 1st and 2nd category and until September 15, 2023 for the 3rd category.
• Every filmmaker is eligible to submit only one movie.
• Filmmakers who wish to submit their movies for the 1st
and 2nd category can only submit them via FilmFreeway.com until August 25th.
• The 3rd category submission process will be announced soon.
Selection process
• Films submitted will be screened and selected by the
program committee of the Cultural Association Against Fascism “Pavlos – Killah P – Fyssas”. The committee decides about the participants of the competitions as well as the rest of the festival program.
• The results of the chosen films will be announced on
September 15, 2023.
Screening, presentation copy, and Legal
• All copyrights remain with the filmmakers.
• The filmmakers have to guarantee that they possess all
copyrights and personal rights necessary for the festival presentation.
• Films submitted for the festival cannot be withdrawn.
Upon submission the filmmakers accept the presentation of their films during the festival.
• All transmittals and other materials are not covered by
insurance. SFF does not assume any liability in case of damage or loss.
• The presentation of all films that are accepted in the
festival program will be free of any charges or fees.
• The following formats are valid for the film submission:
DCP, MP4 for the official screening and MPEG4 in case of a digital presentation.
