Slow Drift Productions, a local women-led production company in Pittsburgh, PA, is holding its first film festival. Slow Drift Film Festival will take place on January 5th, 2023 at the Tull Family Theater in Sewickley, PA, showcasing recent short films directed by local female-identifying filmmakers, and the premiere of Slow Drift's most recent short film, "What's in the Forest".

BRIDGES AWARD: $250 Cash Prize.

This award will be granted to one student female-identifying filmmaker currently attending Point Park University's Cinema Production Program in Pittsburgh, PA. The winner's film will have received the highest score from the Slow Drift Productions crew for their achievement in directing. This recognition as a festival winner signifies the bridge where they crossover from student status to professional filmmaker.

This award is sponsored by Point Park University's school of Cinema Arts.

SLOW DRIFT CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT:

A short film will receive an certificate of achievement after receiving the 2nd highest score from the Slow Drift crew for their achievement in filmmaking.

SUBMISSION SCREENING FORMAT:
SDFF only accepts online screeners.

1. All film submissions must be directed by a female-identifying individual.

2. All film productions submitted must have taken place in Pittsburgh, PA., or surrounding areas (Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio, West Virginia, or Virginia), or must be directed by a filmmaker native to Pittsburgh, PA., or (PA, NY, OH, WV, or VA). Priority to Pittsburgh filmmakers and productions.

3. SDFF is only accepting short films and music videos under a 15 minute total runtime.

4: SDFF reserves the right to refuse entries or change the Submission Status.

5: SDFF does not cover any of the expenses incurred by the filmmaker. The festival does not pay any screening fees.

6: A filmmaker will not be reimbursed for the submission fee if they decide to withdraw the submission.

7: SDFF may without advance notice change festival dates and/or Rules & Terms. It is your responsibility to check for updates.

8: Upon acceptance, SDFF is hereby granted the right to utilize material and contents from any film submitted & accepted for screening at the SDFF for promotional and marketing purposes.

9: The submitter shall indemnify and hold harmless SDFF from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered.

10. The winner of the Bridges Award and the Slow Drift Honorable Mention must be a female-identifying director currently studying Cinema at Point Park University. The winner of the Bridges Award and the Slow Drift Honorable Mention must be present at the live event in order to qualify & receive their award.

11. In order to submit a film, you must own the rights and copyrights or have permission from the owner, as well as any/all music in the film.

12. Any short film genre will be considered.

13. We will not provide the reason for denying any submissions.

14. The only way to submit a film is through FilmFreeway.

15. Submissions must not be more than 2 years old.
