The Slovak Film Festival Los Angeles celebrates Slovak cinema, culture, and creative talent in the heart of the global entertainment industry.

The inaugural festival will take place on September 1, 2026, in Los Angeles, California. We welcome feature films, short films, documentaries, animated films, and student projects that demonstrate artistic excellence, originality, and compelling storytelling.

Films must have a meaningful connection to Slovakia. Eligible projects include films produced in Slovakia, works created by Slovak filmmakers living in Slovakia or abroad, and productions featuring Slovak cast or crew members in significant roles.

Selected films will be evaluated by an independent jury of film industry professionals, with the inaugural jury to be announced in July 2026.

The festival serves as a bridge between Slovak storytellers and the international film community, creating new opportunities for Slovak voices to be discovered and celebrated on the world stage.

Awards may be presented in the following categories:
• Best Feature Film
• Best Short Film
• Best Documentary Film
• Best Animated Film
• Best Student Film

Additional awards or special jury recognitions may be presented at the discretion of the festival jury.
