Really easy and straightforward application process, I was notified in a timely manner and my short script ended up being shortlisted! Unfortunately didn't make the finalist so didn't attend the festival itself. However, when I was first informed that my script had been longlisted, they also provided a free session on pitching which was very useful and not a cynical ploy to upsell anything!

As an emerging writer stepping into film, I couldn’t have asked for a more supportive first experience than with the Slick Film Fund. The communication was thoughtful, the process transparent, and the passion for championing new voices was clear at every step. Huge credit to Chris Overton and the team for creating an opportunity that feels both professional and deeply human. Highly recommend to any emerging filmmaker ready to take the next step.

There simply aren't enough things around like the Slick Films Fund. I was fortunate enough to win the Grand Jury Prize in October 2024, and never before have I attended such a welcoming and inclusive festival. Not only is this fund organised by filmmakers who relate to up-and-coming talent, but the support and guidance they provide for applicants is second-to-none. I cannot wait for the journey ahead with Slick because this fund is perfect for any emerging filmmaker looking to make that all-important breakthrough.
