Sistas Are Doin' It For Themselves short film showcase has been around for over 30 years. They are an incredible showcase and organization (Bherc) that have been a platform and a pipeline for Black Women Directors like Gina Prince Bythewood and many others- (me!-smile). They always center and take care of the filmmakers and put on a lovely red carpet event with fantastic food, films and fun! kudos to Sandra Evers-Manley & John Forbes. Love this event. It was held at the DGA-Directors Guild of America this year and it was such an honor to screen there and see our films on that big DGA screen. Definitely submit. And support all the Sistas Doin it for Themselves (and others!).

I had the best time at this showcase. It was wonderful to see so many black women filmmakers. It was great to be able to watch my film on the DGA screen which felt so surreal. We also had a great dinner during the reception. Thank you so much for having me!
