JULY: Student Filmmakers

We are making up 2020 as we go, because thats just how we do it. If you missed them:

January: Open Format
February: Black Filmmakers

And for March, we are back to anything goes! Open format. Submissions open now.

At the start of every year, filmmakers will have 11 chances to get the "Best of-" laurel for each month. Should your film receive this laurel, your film is automatically entered into our annual showcase where you will have a chance to win the "Best Film of the Year" laurel and the Silverlake Shorts trophy.

1) Your film must match the categories that you submit to. For example, if you are submitting a drama then do not enter it into comedy

2) Let Silverlake Shorts know whether or not you'll be able to attend the screening. In place of submission fees, we have a 2 drink minimum

3) Shorts can't be any longer than 15 minutes

4) Films submitted for our 2019 festival must have been completed after July 25th 2018

5) If selected, all commercial/private property including all trademark/copyrighted materials shown or recorded on the project is the responsibility of the filmmaker

6) Only online screeners will be considered suitable submission material

7) If selected, you must provide stills which will be used for promotional purposes on all Silverlake Shorts social media

8) Rules are subject to change at any time with or without prior notice
