ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The annual Silver Wave Film Festival features something for everyone. The event is hybrid now and films may be shown in person or online. The festival offers a showcase of international, multicultural, French, and English programming of all genres and lengths and a comprehensive industry series which brings experienced and emerging producers and filmmakers together. Films must not premiere in the city of Fredericton where Silver Wave takes place at another screening event before Silver Wave.

Silver Wave is jam packed with exciting events and programming with diversity and depth. The Festival is the brainchild of the board and staff at the New Brunswick Filmmakers’ Co-operative and is the staff's volunteer labour.

I am very proud that my feature film BROKEN WATERS was selected by the highly regarded SWFF. Email communication was comprehensive and my questions were promptly answered by the festival coordinator. I really appreciated the revenue sharing offered by the festival. Thank you Cat and colleagues for your great work.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to make it to the Silver Wave Film Festival, but they were one the most gracious, attentive and incredibly filmmaker focused festivals I've had a film in. I was down to the wire whether I would be able to attend and they were so responsive to all of my queries and even though I wasn't in person, I almost felt as if I was. My film was nominated for an award, which was an added bonus, but the real value was the true respect the festival organizers have for the art form. Thank you SilverWave, I'm looking forward to entering every one of my films from this point forward!

  • We really enjoyed our time at the Silver Wave Film Festival. Highly suggest it - it's so great to see Eastern Canada's work! I felt very proud for my short film Heirloom to be selected amongst these films at the 2023 edition.

Hoping the festival continue to thrive (and we will certainly continue to submit our work there!)
