All film submissions must meet the following guidelines:
• Films must have dance and/or movement as the central focus.
• Films with a total run time of 10 minutes or less will be prioritized, although films with longer run times may still apply.
• Films should have a resolution of 1080p or higher.
• Films that contain any speaking or text must include subtitles.
• Submissions are due by 11:59PM on FRIDAY, AUGUST 31ST.
• There is no limit on the number of submissions. There is a submission fee of $15 per film submitted. Submission fee must be paid at time of submission.
• All submissions will be reviewed by a small panel of local dance and film artists. Films will be reviewed based on the following criteria: overall video quality, meeting of the requirements, compelling use of movement/sound/editing, originality, use of storytelling, and calls to action.

• All selected films will be presented at Short Stack: Chicago’s Tiny Dance Film Festival at FACETS, located at 1517 West Fullerton Avenue, Chicago, IL 60614.
• Selected films will receive two (2) free admissions to the in-person screening in Chicago, IL. No travel expenses are included.
• Filmmakers will retain the rights to their films presented by Short Stack.
• Filmmakers hold sole responsibility for acquiring copyrights, licenses and releases for media used in their films and will indemnify and hold harmless the festival and its owners, producers, sponsors, and employees against any claims brought against the foregoing as a result of Filmmakers’ failure to obtain the same.
• If selected, Short Stack reserves the right to use short clips and film images (provided by the artist) for use in promotional materials.
• Selected films may receive an honorarium for their participation once production expenses are covered, to be determined following box office close.
• Selected films may be shown on Short Stack digital channels for paid virtual access, with written (email) consent from the filmmaker.
