Shock-A-Go-Go is a premiere festival that showcases: Horror, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Cult, Dark Comedy, Experimental, Animation and Independent films.

Held annually in Los Angeles since 2001, Shock-A-Go-Go has moved this year's festival to Vidiots in Eagle Rock! Our past festival has included guests such as: Roger Corman (Bucket of Blood, The Raven, Death Race 2000, The Little Shop of Horrors), Ted V. Mikels (Astro Zombies, The Doll Squad), David F. Friedman (Blood Feast, 2000 Maniacs) , Stuart Gordon (Re-Animator, Dagon), Jack Hill (Spider Baby, Foxy Brown), Mary Woronov (Rock adn Roll High School, Eating Raoul), and Michael Berryman (The Devil's Rejects, The Hills Have Eyes). It's featured films such as Nightbreed, The Raven, The Masque of the Red Death, The Doll Squad, Rock and Roll High School, Dagon, Re-Animator, Spider Baby, Death Race 2000, Faster Pussycat, Kill, Kill, and many more.

Our festival runs all day and into the night and features brand new horror and genre films and animations as well as classic cult films, and contains a segment for shorts that spotlight many up and coming genre-filmmakers.

This year, we will open our festival with a marathon of screenings at Vidiots Theatre in Los Angeles. You can expect guest speakers with Q&A panels, a shorts segment, and a feature films segment. Each of these will have categories that spotlight animations, women, and BIPOC filmmakers.

We encourage filmmakers of all levels to submit to our festival, and we welcome as many submissions as you’d like. Please keep in mind, that if your film is selected and it was submitted to different categories, it will only play in one.

Overall Rating
  • The Shock A GoGo film festival was a blast. There is a certain quality when you bring in real fans of the horror/thriller genre. They are true movie lovers and Shock A Go Go knows how to put on a program. It was great to screen along side a real cult classic, “Slumber Party Massacre.” It’s also a great venue there in Long Beach.
