The 2026 Youth Short Film Festival has successfully come to a close!
Over the past year, we have witnessed the remarkable creativity, passion, and courage of young filmmakers. Every film has moved and inspired us, making this festival an unforgettable celebration of storytelling through cinema.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to every filmmaker, supporter, volunteer, and everyone who worked tirelessly behind the scenes. Your dedication made this festival possible.
We look forward to seeing you all again next year as we come together to create another wave of inspiring films and unforgettable stories.

Awards & Prizes

Each eligible submission will be independently scored by multiple members of the jury, with a maximum score of 100 points. The jury will evaluate each entry based on our Creative Excellence Matrix, which includes: originality, technical execution, storytelling, artistic impact, and rewatch value. Only the highest-scoring films will receive awards.

Rules & Terms

All films must have been completed after April 1, 2024. Any projects that are not fully completed—such as works in progress—will not be accepted.

Submissions are accepted via FilmFreeway. Screening copies may be hosted on FilmFreeway, Vimeo, or YouTube, but they must remain accessible with the current password until April 2026.

Applicants must be at least 10 years old and no older than 19, and must provide proof of age, such as a student ID or passport. There is no limit on the number of crew members.

The maximum film length is 10 minutes. The same work may not be submitted multiple times by different organizations or individuals.

The submitted work must not have received any awards and must not have been licensed to any third party.

There is no submission fee; therefore, all young people who are passionate about film festivals are warmly encouraged to submit their work.

By submitting your film, you grant the Youth International Short Film Festival permission to use, distribute, and share the film’s poster, trailer, synopsis, and still images on our social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube). The applicant (submitter) must accept the rules and terms of the Youth International Short Film Festival. Submission of a film indicates agreement to comply with these rules, and the festival reserves the final right of interpretation.

Technical Specifications:

Film file and a 1-minute trailer
(Submissions from Taiwan must include Chinese and English subtitles, as well as opening and closing credits; international submissions must include at least English subtitles.)

Video format: H.264 / MP4, resolution 1080p

Audio format: WAV / Stereo 2.0 / 24-bit WAV

At least three film stills (.png or .jpeg format; stills must be from the film itself—no behind-the-scenes images or crew members visible)

Chinese and English synopsis or documentary description

Director’s portrait photo and English biography

Digital copy of student ID or age verification document

One vertical poster (2480 × 3508 pixels)
