Shextreme Film Festival has created a wonderful blend of being both inspirational and intimate, helping festival goers and creatives believe in their wildest dreams whilst valuing where they are in their adventure journey right now. I’ve been fortunate to have been part of the audience and a few years later on a panel after my film with Frit Tam, Brave Enough - A Journey Home to Joy was screened. It was attending the early festivals that helped build my confidence to pursue my ideas and value my creative voice. Dr Ruth Farrar curates a film programme and workshops that speak so clearly to her audience. Joyful, aspirational and beautiful and at the same time, films that leave us reflecting on tough and important issues and experiences around the world. The atmosphere of the festival is welcoming, encouraging and supportive. It’s the only film festival where I’ve seen women skateboarding on the stage! I can’t recommend Shextreme more highly as a creative and audience member. Your work will be treated with respect and such a professional approach by the organising team and a warm, engaged and interesting audience. Truly a highlight on the film festival circuit.
