The Service Through Film Student Film Festival is a FREE FESTIVAL created to encourage and inspire young filmmakers from across the US by providing them a venue to show off their artistic filmmaking talent while helping serve the community. It provides an outlet to shine a light on social issues, in addition to helping service organizations, NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations), as well as other non-profit agencies magnify their messages.
The Service Through Film Student Film Festival celebrates the power of cinema as a creative tool to shine a light on important social issues, people, and groups who are making a positive difference in the community. The festival emphasizes artistic vision in telling these stories through short narrative film (6 min. and under), Public Service Announcements (PSAs), Promotional videos for non-profits, documentary, and animation. It exclusively showcases student work for high school or college students.
Submissions are due by March 30, 2018.

Before submitting your film to the festival, review these conditions:
1. Films need to fit w/in the mission of the festival (see festival description above). Films that do not correspond to the festival’s mission will not be considered.
2. We welcome films in any language. Please provide English subtitles.
3. Films may be no longer than 6 minutes in length.
4. Films produced before January 2015 will not be considered.
5. One film per director.
6. While press kits are welcomed, they are not required. We would like, however, access to still images or any other information you have about your film for promotional purposes if possible.
7. This is a festival for students only. All entries should list the school where the project was produced in the credits or description. Submissions must be made by filmmakers 23 years old or younger at the time of the creation of the film.
8. Films should be PG-13 in content, in other words, no nudity, gratuitous substance use or graphic violence.
9. All content must be original and/or used with permission.
10. Just to emphasize the point, all music must also be original and/or used with permission.
