Few words have as much confused resonance as "love." Translatable across the many languages and cultures of humanity, its pursuit is ubiquitous and often considered among our most noble endeavors. And yet the drives, dynamics, and textures of this heralded emotion are far from straightforward.

Secrets of the Heart is an opportunity to show an original short (1-20 minutes) about one of the more beguiling aspects of the human condition (love) in front of an audience in New York City, where the Secrets series of film festivals has found a niche among informed cinephiles for over a decade.

Secrets Film Festivals do not offer awards or prizes.

Secrets of the Heart will premiere at Film Noir Cinema in Brooklyn. Before covid and the lockdowns, we would take the film programs to other locations as well, but we are only now re-establishing the underground cinema supply chain.

In addition to our longstanding relationship with Film Noir Cinema, previous festivals have also screened at: The Berkeley Video and Film Festival; The Gene Frankel Theater in Manhattan; The 21C Museum-Hotel in Lexington (KY): The Reverb in Baltimore; HOWL! Gallery in Manhattan; Tron Page in Manhattan; The Ark Theater in North Hollywood (LA); The Sunview Luncheonette in Brooklyn; The Norwood Club in Manhattan; and The Lookout in Washington, DC.

Secret s of the Heart is seeking original short films (less than 20 minutes) of any genre (narrative, documentary, experimental, music video, animation) shot anytime and anywhere that are about LOVE.

WE WILL SCREEN NEW AND OLD FILMS!

So proud to have my film Come Sweet Earth 1234 screened at this year's Secrets of Outer Space. Jeff is a sensational organizer and I respect his efforts to bring a unique cinematic and narrative vision to New York, Brookyln and Berkeley. The networking is terrific and many of us met one another through the excellent FB page dedicated to this festival. Very thankful for all! Thanks!

Had a great time at this event, it was intimate, easy going and had a cool underground vibe to it. I've been consistently amazed and grateful for the continued work that Jeffrey does throughout the year to promote and screen the films at other venues and cities. Such a good community.
