The Seattle Trans Underground Film Festival (STUFF) is soliciting submissions for our 2026 festival, to be held on October 15-18th in-person in Seattle, WA. We are open to films of any length that are considered by their creators to be “trans film.”
Entries will be accepted on a rolling basis. You will be notified if your film is accepted no later than September 10th; earlier submissions may be notified in advance of that date.
STUFF is open to all trans films, as defined by their creators. STUFF is open for both fiction and non-fiction shorts, mid-length, and feature-length submissions from any filmmaker, anywhere, who considers their work a trans film. We specifically value trans and marginalized filmmakers, whether or not their films focus on trans topics, and we’re open to filmmakers regardless of trans status.
Films in languages other than English are required to be subtitled in English for submission. For English films, subtitles are not required at the point of submission; however, to make our programming more accessible, all selected films will be required to have subtitles to be shown at the festival in October.
Stills, trailers, and clips of your submission up to two minutes in length of accepted films may be used by STUFF for promotional purposes for the festival year they were submitted.
All films must be submitted through FilmFreeway. If the submission fee is a barrier to you, please reach out to us directly at info@seattletransfilmfest.org.
STUFF does not provide screening fees. Filmmakers are welcome to attend the festival, and those accepted will receive complimentary admission to the full event; however, we are generally not able to finance travel accommodations.
By submitting, you attest that the work submitted is an original film which you hold the rights to. If accepted, you grant STUFF the non-exclusive right to screen the submitted film at the festival in October of 2026, and the right to use and publish publicity materials related to the film in advance of and following this screening. If necessary, films may be withdrawn prior to selection; however, no film may be withdrawn from the festival program after the announcement of selected films.
This year, we are exploring options for a simultaneous online festival portion hosted on Eventive for those outside of Seattle to view a selection of the programming, and soliciting participating filmmakers' feedback and interest on the subject. Participation in any online portion is completely optional, and the submission process includes a question where you can indicate your consent or decline for an online portion. Your response to this question will not be considered in deliberation of films for the festival in any way.
